Car is idling rough and throwing a code p0304, looks like my ignition coil went bad.

Will update later.

Yup, definitely the coil, swapped coils 2 and 4, the code changed and I can see smoke coming from the bad coil. You can also smell the coil burning.

Speaking of engine codes.... I have one on my beater accord and I was thinking about investing in a scanner. What scanner do you use?

Your cars pissed you took off the S/C...I bet if you put it back on, everything will be fine! It's just throwing a temper tantrum :biggrin:

Man your running into a string of bad luck, T.body earlier, and now coil problems.... I hope thats going to be the last of it.

Thread Jacked:err:

Looks like I may of spoke to soon, looks like the real problem is my HKS twin power. When I switched the coils the bad (coil fried by the HKS) caused cylinder 2 to throw a code but then cylinder 4 also threw a code again. Checked the swapped coil and it started blistering like the bad one. Checked the coils and only 1 is fried and the other is fine, checked it just in time.

The HKS twin power must be fried and is throwing out some bad juice.
Checking the voltage coming from the pins on cylinder 4's coil plug (Ignition switched on, engine not running):

__[-]__
(3|2|1)

Without HKS
3=12.05
2=0.003
1=0.005

With HKS
3=12.07
2=0.003
1=3.552

You can see pin 1 is throwing out way too much voltage with the HKS.

Sorry to hear all your troubles lately Jeff. I don't think you need the HKS twin power anymore without your SC.
