Hows everybody? As you can see I'm new to this site! I'm the proud owner of a FX35 08'. I got it used :sad: Had only one owner before me "rental". But its in great shape no dings scratches or problems I can find, and I LOOKED!! It don't have Nav but I went and got a Garmin 880. Im a soldier working on Ft Bliss 2 tours in IRAQ. Just moved down from seattle in Dec. Looking forward to meeting new friends here. My plans for the car are new wheels, OEM upgrades. Nothing cheesy or lame. Car is silver with a light tan leather interior. So if anybody has some great mods or ideas please let me know. And if your in the El Paso area let me know and some day hook up for a Sat, Sun drive. Welcome to IS, thank you for serving our country.. I'm sure that if you do a search on the search bar you will have lots of ideas coming to you mod wise.. Have fun!

As for wheels take a look at our wheels studio ///1562 for wheel ideas and congrats on the FX.
 
Quick question, I'm seeing some grills that are Black can you buy them or must you paint them yourself? my car is silver I'm thinking of a black grill, smoked light covers, and either black or chrome wheels. i'm leaning to Black with chrome ascents. later Nasmo "not sure on the spelling" pipes. A good tune, just some ideas.

Yup, they are pretty much diy's some use rattlecans and some get the grilles and trim pieces professionally painted. Not much in the market for our cars besides performance parts that are shared with the G35.

Welcome to :iS:. You'll have to paint the grille yourself, or have a bodyshop do it for you. Look around the pics threads, that should give you ideas about how some wheels & visual upgrades look on our cars.
 
By Nasmo I assume you mean Nismo, the exhaust for the 350Z that can be modified to fit the FX rather easily.
 
How did you do your grill Big Turk? I want to do it right so it looks good but will last. I like the look of your car. I'm leaning to looking something like yours. but i want to smoke the light covers.
 
Congrats on the new FX. Post some pics. The Garmin 880 is vastly superior to the Infiniti nav system so that worked out great for you. Actually the cheapest Garmin is vastly superior to the stock nav system...

Sorry for the late reply Panzer, and thanks for the compliment. I've gotten sports head lights since I took that pic that's my avatar, so they look a bit darker now...gotta update I guess :tongue:. I'll send you a pm about the grille.

Hello again

Well a hole week with my New "used 08" FX35. Its nice to be back on the road again!! Well at least a road in not getting blown up on! Lets see went and spent 4+ hours or so detailing the car. Did the Clay thing and a good wax. Good cleaning and Armorall inside. "I'm a neat freak"!!!!!!!!! She looks New!!! hooray!! :.smile: Thursday "3day weekend" im getting a Ipod interface unit from PAC-SUN installed so I can finaly use my Iphone instead of CD's:tup: Ill try to keep track of how they do it so I can do a post for somebody. Ill probably look into painting the grill gloss black like Turk did and leave the Infiniti badge alone. If it looks like crap ill turn it into a body shop and have them deal with it. I do alot of models so i think i can handle a spray can and keep it even and make it come out good. im not sure how to post pictures in the thread like some people here do. My car is a work in progress, im in no hurry if i get in a hurry ill mess things up. So one step at a time. Next is wheels im looking at 20" give or take something black with a little bit of chrome to bring out highlights and someting in a 4-6 inch lip. Im ERY VERY VERY new to the hole tire wheel thing. "ive been riding bikes" for the past 6 years. My last car was in germany and it was a "hoopty" BMW from 81!! :ever: hay i was a single soldier living in the BKS. Did not need much. My other car was in the Motor Pool , 38T Bradley Fighting Vehicle!!! Fun on the Autobahn!!!!
After wheels then comes Engine No idea where to start!! thinking intake then exhaust.
AS YOU CAN SEE I'M NEW :ever:
PS. For all you gamers out there I do a lot of BF 2142 I'm panzer74 so if you play add me to your friends list, and we will go raise hell on somebody's Titan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
