New FX vs Old FX : driving impressions?

i got the 09 FX35, test drove an 08 as well, im happy i ended up getting the 09, however the 08 isn't to far behind so its really a win win

I agree, but as dave said the grill is just horrible.

P-

I don't know if you've seen the thread on the ORG but there's a new black 2nd gen FX with a black grille and color coded side vents and it changes the entire look of the car for me. I have been critical of the new design so far but this particular FX50S looks awesome. Just from these 2 fairly simple changes. Take a look if you get a chance I think it's in the Gallery area.

I've seen them - its not the color, its the way it looks chopped off. But I agree that the black grill and vents do look better.

if you can afford the 09 go for the 09. the reason why 08 has a huge discount is almost nobody is going to willing buy an brand new older body type KNOWING that the new body style is already out.

Almost nobody get use to new body types on any car immedately, but you will thank you self a few years down when you look at your newer body type and it doesn't look really outdated compare to the 1 year older 08.

Almost everybody I know regret getting a last production year older body style for cheap when a newer body style came out.

even if its an 08 in a year or 2 when ppl get use to the new looks, the general public will think you have 04-06 car.

just my 2 cents

If you going to get the older body style, mind as well go for earlier models and they are cheaper and you can use the left over money for mods.
AMEN on that

For me, out of the box both gens need mods. The interior on both models is/was great for the year. For the 2nd gen, get rid of all the chrome, mod the grill and I love it as long as it has 21s or better. So FX50 only for me with those mods and Im right at home. In either case both gens have unlimited potential.

I have an 09 FX35 with the 18s and they look too small for the FX. I would definitely recommand getting the Deluxe Touring package that comes with the 20s.

I'm still getting used to the 7spd tranny but I do like the car as a whole.

I like the exterior on the 1st gen and the interior of the 2nd gen. I would like to drive the 1st gen to compare the handling.
