New FX vs Old FX : driving impressions?

The question I have is , is there a 'big' enough difference in terms of handling, and overall driving impressions in the new Fx to justify paying the 10-15K premium over the old body style?

On the outside, both cars look little changed, just wondering if there were any enhancements in suspensions etc

little changed? I'm pretty sure tha thte 09 fx is a bit different form the 1st gen LOL

huge differences, from the ground up, tech is way more advanced, suspension is improved, engine is better all around, the new ones have a 7 speed tranny, paddle shifters, interior is completely different & much nicer... all in all there really is nothing the same new to old other than a maybe similar profile...

Maybe an FX50S thats a few years old and depreciated when I finish paying this one off and then i can go crazy with engine mods on the 35:tup:

or a 1Gen with an HR engine and a manual tranny ....Whada Whada :uhhh:

That is one nice combo Jeff.

I like the new FX also. I would not mind having mine and an 09. hahaha

keep it coming guys...

so you guys are saying its worth it to buy the 09 model , even though the 08 has a huge discount advantage...

peace

It's up to you.. I seriously like the First Gen over the new one.. I think the first gen it way better looking than the new one. Tho I wouldn't mind having a fx50s. But I wouldn't let go of my 1st gen fx.

if you can afford the 09 go for the 09. the reason why 08 has a huge discount is almost nobody is going to willing buy an brand new older body type KNOWING that the new body style is already out.

Almost nobody get use to new body types on any car immedately, but you will thank you self a few years down when you look at your newer body type and it doesn't look really outdated compare to the 1 year older 08.

Almost everybody I know regret getting a last production year older body style for cheap when a newer body style came out.

even if its an 08 in a year or 2 when ppl get use to the new looks, the general public will think you have 04-06 car.

just my 2 cents

If you going to get the older body style, mind as well go for earlier models and they are cheaper and you can use the left over money for mods.

Ok.. Obviously some of us here have the cash to get a new model FX.. And with what some of us spend on a 03-08 model on mods, make the 09 affordable.. But some people are not just all about having the latest model out there.. I personaly love the First Gen, the lines, design performance and reliability is outstanding.. And as I said before if I ever get rid of my 05 you better believe it will be for a 08.. Unless it's the FX50S..

man the 50's are a beast. I kinda wish i held out for an 09. I have an 08 and the new one came out like 3-4 months later. watever tho...1st gens will always b the ish!

I think the FX is pretty timeless, so it's not like the older models will ever get too old looking. I barely see any '09's, so I doubt people here will notice mine is older. It's not like a G where everyone can tell the old from the new.

also, whenever they release a new design/body style, there are bugs that have to be worked out. my gf bought an altima coupe right when they came out has had to deal with numerous trips to the dealer for problems/recalls. i personally like the design of the 1st gens better so i'd say go that route. if you really want the new style, i'd give it another year and let them work the issues out first.

unless of course mommy and daddy are buying you a shiney new car for you to beat on and abuse, in which case just go get the 50 today.

That is if they continue to sell this model in the future. The way the sales have tanked on the '09, they're probably contemplating whether to drop the FX altogether. They killed it with that 'only a mother could love that face' snout. Designers were surely out to lunch that day.
