How to Mod to make it look like this ?

I've been searching for a new car for weeks now, after reading the great things about the FX,

I am really excited that I finally decided on this car ( haven't even test driven it ) , my price range is 30K. , the local dealer said he has some low mileage 08s for this price range i am seeing tomorrow...

However,

' I really want this car------>' the car at infinitifxforum(dot)com

Tell me what I need to do, what year, what options, I need to mod to make an FX look like this? (whats the name of the color?)

Thanks.

How much time do you have? How big is your bank account, & do you know much about modding?

I am free all weekends and fridays. As said in my previous post, my budget is 30K for the car plus probably 2 - 5K more if need be. I do not know much about modding.

Thanks for your help.

This is way out of your league, sorry.
Get your ride, and then we can help you get going on some mods with your allotted budget. You can do a few bolt ons with that money. Or . . you can buy one of those wheels like the car above . .but you'll need 3 more

give the guy a break...he said he was new to modding, so maybe someone can provide a speculative amount of money for him to go off of (assuming no one knows the actual amount of $$ Viet spent on his car)...

If i had to venture a guess, I'd say $10K+ for the wheel/tire setup and another $10k+ for the paint & bodywork, assuming he got some sort of discount for advertising for autoexplosion. And I did not even get into the suspension and engine work, since the OP only wanted to "look" like it.

No one really knows the actual dollar amount invested in rookies FX, but it would be safe to say that you would be looking well over $30k for all the mods he has done and the down time to get all these mods done is quite a bit more then a few weekends more like months with professional shops.

Dude's shooting for the moon here... 2-5k is going to get you wheels/tires, no body work for that amount is going to look amazing... You picked one hell of a model to go off of, great looking car, but 35k will not get you there... I would pick a FX up, hell even drive one and make sure it fits you... then start with some suspension mods, wheels/tires and a few bolt-ons and see where you want to go from there...

if you have 30-35 k to spend... how bout getting an older model car? 03-05 with the lowest mileage you can find... then with the rest of your budget.... get as much as you can... you'd have 10-15k left over....

true. if you really want to look like viet's FX but need to keep that budget, you're looking at a high-mileage 03 or 04....

rookie is rocking HRE? with only 5k you will only be able to get new replica HRE with crappy tires or real but really beat up ones with no tires.......

Rookie has at least $75K invested in his car.

1. Boddy, $5000
2. Wheels $6000
3. Brakes $4000
4. Head unit $2000
5. Subs $4000
6. Speakers $4000
7. Turbo plus Engine work $12000
8. Transmission $3000
9. Diff $2000
10. Interior $2000

need I go on?

Fred, I think your guesses are really low....

1. Body..who knows... as much labor and fabricating that's involved, including hiding wires, brake lines, creating the wide body kit, etc..$5000 is probably really low.
2. Wheels w/ tires closer to $10,000
3. Brakes closer to $7-8,000
9. Transmission....full swap from auto to stick for $3000? way too low...unless you were talking only about his auto trans upgrades.

OP start slow. Look at Viet's progression over the years, he took it slow and look at where it got him!

Ummm...I would't say it was a slow process but at the same time it did not materialize overnight =) a little over 3 years in progression for everything.

Somebody post the pix of that new wide body kit that they produced. That will probably suffice for what he is looking for. You get a unique look for about 4K. I would post it but I can find the pics of the black FX that rookie modded out in Cali.

guys, not for nothin', but when your talking about a car like this, I'm sure the numbers are way tf up there, there's well over $100k easily in that fx if there's a dollar in it, that's for sure... I won't even speculate as to how much actual total costs are cause that's really none of my business, but it's not entry level stuff right there by a long shot...

let's not forget that this started with a brand new fx.... a build like that, forget about asking how much, a build like that goes beyond just money, it takes a whole lot of dedication & work, on top of the money to get to a point like that... I'll bet that there is more money in that fx that isn't even there any more than many whole fx's cost... it's progressive... before you can count the built tt you gotta count the first blower, the first blown motor, the first set of wheels, the second set of wheels, the third, the first suspension, the second, the third, the first paint job, the second... & so on & on & on...

i's more tha just money though, it's a passion, a dedication & having a vision & then realizing it, no matter what it takes... that is the big leagues right there, you don't ask how much, cause it takes more than just money... to build what viet has takes more than just that, although it also does take a shit load of money on top of it, it takes a whole lot of dedication & passion & determination & one would think a lot of sacrifices too to build something like that... it's more than just money & after a while the money doesn't even matter any more, it's a top winning show car with damn near multi national recognition as the best & most radical fx ever, you can't just put a price tag on that...

you wanna copy it? good luck
