(Waiting for Frankiago to reply to this)

question regarding ecu chips, etc.
Tell me about Unichip...

While at TS last Saturday, there where a few G's that had tune done.

the Best you can get out of just changing your chip is 20WHP's.

Most Claim upto 100HP. "Crap?" is right. All the rest are in the $$$. might as well do a TS tune.

Would love to do a TS tune, but I'm in Houston. Not sure if it's available to me around here. So I was looking at the chip from the site I posted the link. Even if I get only 20% of the 50hp claim (= 10hp) that would totally be worth the 70 bucks. So I was asking if anybody has experience with this particular chip. I don't even know where this thing plugs in - the site is not very informative. So if the money isn't really the issue - is this even worth trying?

If I'm not mistaken, the chip is nothing buy a resistor that they place inline somewhere to trick your MAF. This causes your car to run leaner which gives you the feeling of power, and uses less gas. However, this messes with other things, and possibly voids the warranty.

Don't quote me on this.

Yup, every cheapo "chip" you see out there is basically a $2-5 resistor. A proper tune is nowhere near that much and will adjust at least the AF ratio without modifying any OEM hardware.

Hey Jumbos Rule; I am in Houston as well and the only place where I can think of that may do it is Racing Evolution on Westpark and Fondren. You can call and ask.... Myself and friends have gone there for years with our other vehicles and they do pretty good work.
