I was talking to my buddy today, and he told me some stuff about 22s, like being heavier, and pricier tires and stuff. he also mentioned worse driving because of thinner tires. I wanna here from more reliable people. many of you have been driving with 22s so what are some pros and cons other than they look good but more expensive?
Thanks for the help!

pretty much all of the above... They look better is probably the only pro... but it's a HUGE "pro" that out weighs many of the "cons" ... just my honest opinion... I've seen 20's before that I wouldn't mind having...

and... I think you've said in the past that you'll be selling the FX in about 6-7 months? if that's the case... save the money, and just replace that one tire or the whole set and call it a day.

Lip = 22"s
No lip = 20" +

I have had both 22's and 20's, the ride is way better on the 20's due to the extra tire sidewall. I mainly got my 20's due to the weight of them(25lbs), but I wouldn't mind having an extra set of 22's if they were forged and lightweight.

glad you remember:rolleyes:
yea..basically everyones trying to stop me.
One thing that im not 100% sure is the fate of my car.
If its guaranteed selling, i won't consider buying new wheels either.
Have a slim chance of brining my car to Korea, and in this case, im going for the wheels. you see where the complication is coming from? its still like 6 o 7 months ahead and nothings quite sure. urgent thing is that i need new tires but local stores are asking for around 1200 CAD for the set. the best option for me is to get one worn out tire for replacement and drive it fro a some month and decide carefully. Ive actually found one from ebay, Brigdestone potenza, about 20% left for 20 bucks. unfortuneately they won't ship to Canada. Sucks!

yeah, with the weather in B.C. (especially THIS winter), I'd go with 20's...
but I think finding ONE tire right now, and just placing it, drive around a few months is your best option...

I know a guy who is selling a set of 20, 4 G-Force TA KDW 265/50/20 tires new for 500 bucks I think. Thought about picking them up myself. Not sure if he still has them for sale, but he did last week. Let me know because that might be your next best option.

seems you are more familiar with the weather here!
I was actually out of town for vacation and couldn't experience it myself.
It didn't quite affect me other than my buddy couldn't come pick me up at the airport.
I heard it was notorious!
Anyways thanks for the advise, always:tup:

your axis orden's still wandering in my head, it won't let go.
I remember it being a crazy deal?
anyways, thanks!

I have 22 Axis Ordens  (see avatar) and I really dont feel much of a difference vs my stock 20 w/ Goodyear RSA tires. I actually like the 22 more and would not go back to anything smaller.

tires prices are simlar to 20 tires

cant really think of many cons other than I always paranoid about hitting a curb and damaging them. But since I have 285, there is allot of tire bulge to protect me.

LOL...Ain't that the truth. "Hitting a curb" Im paranoid as hell about that now. "BUT" it depends on the width of your wheel as well. Im on 22"X10", so that stretches out the 285/35/22 pretty good, not much, if any bulge on my wheels.

PROS:
Puff Daddy will hang with you

CONS:
Heavier wheel
Heavier rubber
Increased u/s weight
Greater rolling resistance
Harsh ride
They are 22s
They look silly

Joke guys!

Pros
Make the ride look like a sport beast!
Make people turn heads
Everytime you see your ride from far or close you say in your head"I'm balling"
Cons
You too busy thinking and doing the Pros to spend time on this. LOL

Pro-
Looks Killer
Hugs the corners better
Did I mention Looks better.

Con-
Spend allot more time cleaning them-(worth it to me)
Heavier
not pot hole freindly

That being said 22's are a must for summer but keep the stockers for snow tires in the winter if you plan on driving in snowy conditions.
