My FX is Breaking Down....!!!!! AHHHH.....

Well glad to hear you found the solution to the problem, and that it wasn't directly caused by the grounding kit. Just seal it up well and all should be good.

I didn't do the install, and honestly never thought about it....Will, you better check yours too.

The wire that goes to the ecu he made the opening really small and had to wedge the wire thru. - was watching him do that part cuz I remember lebron having issues with the ecu getting wet

Guys, when you installed these grounding wire kits and had to go thru the oem wiring harness to get to the ecu compartment did you not seal the extra hole that was made by the grounding wire?!?!?!?!? If that hole is not sealed properly eventually a leak will happen. If any of you guys with a grounding wire kit has not done so already go and get something to seal up that hole! I used a lot of electrical tape with my install and over 3 years later I have not had any issues.

Ya . . I also used tape

Well I guess that was the solution to the problem, at the end it wasn't the grounding kit. It was just the way it was installed. Hey white hair I hope everything get solved by the warranty, that's a big chunk of cash to pay out of your pockets.

We all have to thank you for this. Gladly because of your problem more Member will fix that problem, so they don't have to g thru the same issue.

Thank you once again sir .

No worries. It's all about information sharing on :iS:. My problem will not be covered by the warranty. The car has been 5 years old, no more standard warranty. So I simply ask them to test out the ECU and seal the opening with some silicon. After I get the car, I will open the ECU compartment and seal whatever wires or terminal blocks with more silicon to make it all "Waterproofed". I will seal the harness once more with more silicon so the silicon will covered the entire harness to the part of the firewall section. I hope this will make the problem go away. And I will also tape some bags of desiccant in the ECU compartment area.

What do you guys think about that alternative solution??

I don't have the installation manual. I have to get it from the seller. I will get back to you this weekend. Hope I can have my car patched up today and ready for tomorrow. :.smile:

Finally got my car back :.smile:!!

The total fix is $566 CAD. Not cheap. But I must admit that mechanics who has 25 years experience did a really good job. He has identified which pin on the ECU was oxidized. They managed to restore it as much as they could and have it working. The ECM terminal survived because it's gold plated. The hole on the harness is sealed up with polyurethane, the sealant for windshield installation. Stronger than silicon and water proof. I will try to cover the harness with another layer of silicon just to make it heat proof. Polyurethane will melt under high heat (possible not much heat in that area). Probably it is not necessary, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

For the connector pin, if the connection problems still persists, I will replace the connector or simply rewired it. (about hours of work to do those).

Have been driving for an hour now. No problem so far.

Then my next step to get my new KYB strut, H&R, Metal brake fluid tube and possible new high quality rotor and pads for all wheels. :)

Metal brake fluid tube
Huh? Stainless steel braided brake lines? hehe, not picking on ya, just wanted to make sure there isn't something else people are foolin around with as far as brakes go. I've had my damn StopTech SS braided brake lines for years now, never installed

And yea Will... you know the deal

Well, from my previous service at my friend's shop. They said my brake is a bit soft. And they flush the brake fluid and found no bubbles. They are guessing the deterioration of the brake lines. There is a lot of road salts during the winter session. So, I guess for safety concern is ideal to replace the lines, since my daily commute is about 100 km. And since there is not much difference for OEM and metal lines for the price I got, why not?

Same situation has already happened on my friend's 04 FX. After changing the new brake lines, the brake is sharper. But it is possible that the master cylinder is screwed up but will try change the brake lines and see. What is the disadvantage for steel brake lines?

Re-jumping this thread.

Have the same u1000 after correcting a P0444. Wish diagram exist where to find these grounds - hate having to take to Steeler.
