Guys,

Interested to hear what you think of the seats in the FX. Comfort, support etc. How do you rate them in comparison to other cars that you have owned or driven? Which car had your favorite seats?

i love the seats in the fx. i prefer the my o6 45 seats. they feel more comfortable and it feels like they hug you more. i also prefer the material because of the espresso leather. i think the seats in my 05 35 arent as nice. the most comfortable seats i have driven in were my daughters 07 Range Rover Supercharged. she has that fully loaded with the really nice seats. love that car but is no fx

I think they're comfortable but not that good in support when cornering. I like the newer seats on the 09s with higher side bolsters or the g35 coupe seats.. Wish they had a sportier seat option for the FX.

I love the auto adjust when you use the key fob, my wife moves the seat way forward and in the QX4 I had to sit sideways just to adjust the seat back so I could get in the car.
Seat heaters are a good thing as well up here in the mountains. Iv'e seen on other threads that allot of the FX seat heaters out there don't work so well, mine works great warm in 2 to 5 minutes. With all of the available adjustments it can be set for most peoples preferences.
I agree that they could hold you better in tight corners but all in all a pretty comfortable seat.:tup:

I think they're okay. I give the seats a 6.5 out of 10. Not too impressed with the leather quality. Nissan grade seats in an Infiniti. I think the head rest is completely useless because it tilts at an angle. No matter how I adjust the head rest it doesn't support my head. Typical car in the FX's class such as the new MDX have much better seats. Also the sides are too close to the B pillar inside and at times they rub depending on how you have your seat adjusted.

Just thinking about it.. I think the support is dependent on how big you are.. For small/thin guys like me, it's easier to slide around I guess

Interesting comments. I've been happy with the seats overall. The adjustability is good and the lumbar works well for my dodgy back. Lateral grip isn't bad considering I don't throw the car around every corner I see but I do notice that I slip a little under very aggressive driving. I can imagine it would be more noticeable at the track. I drove up to Niagara Falls last month and the 8 hour drive was fine with a break every 3-4 hours. Long distance comfort was very good. Heated seats are average at best. And I agree that the head rests aren't the greatest of designs. Leather quality seems good.

Question: Does your guys seat memory button function when the vehicle ignition is OFF? I have to turn the ignition on to operate the memory switch which is kind of counter-intuitive because I can't get in the damn seat after my wife has been driving in order to turn the ignition on??

I love my brick leather seats!

The memory button on the seat itself will not work with the ignition off. But if you use the ikey and it is has been mated to your setting in the FX then everything will auto adjust to the setting you have set before you enter the car.

Yea I wish it did function without the need for the ignition myself. But the ikey does what its supposed to so its not really a big deal.

Seats do the job. Nice air lumbar support and move enough in each direction. In long trips I'm constantly playing with the adjustments, but can typically find a setting I like. If I could change one thing is if it could "grip" you more. Sort of like Corvette seats.

1994 S600 coupe - favorite seats. Not sure why -- they were huge and had a lot of functions. My friend has a bad back and swear by his 1998 XJR seats.

My only large complaint besides the non adj. headrests, is the hard door pull on the door panel int. On longer drives, I tend to cross my left leg, & it hurts the knee bone after some time.

Decent seats, certainly better than any other car I have driven, though my low and mid-back still give me trouble on longer drives. The seats in my FX35 were more comfortable than the seats in my FX45; I think the difference is in the perforated vs. non-perforated leather.
