Rear "Wing" Idea

I was thinking about another idea fro the rear "wing" So I picked these up from a guy locally. It came with 7 pieces, but pic shows 5. "Vortex Generator"

Tell me what you guys think, I havent installed them yet, just placed it on the car. The only thing is the pieces dont conform to the back , leaving a gap. they come with thin doublesided tape.

I still havent decided if I want to keep them.

You might as well put a big wing on the back and change your license plate to WANABEVO

I think your ride looks great without it
 
Those might look cool on under the rear bumper cover, but I dont lik 'em the top.
Can you try them down there for visual?
 
I say get the lip spoiler from ebay instead.. Looks much better and I'd think it'll perform much better as well..

edit: Btw, for it to be a proper "Vortex Generator" you have to put them the other way. Thin side goes to the front part..

I was just trying them out, I would have put them on permanetly if they fit and looked good.

But its always good for us to share what we learned right?

so the consensus is no (that includes me)
 
NOOOOOO! that is like that reminds me of the FX with the bad custom body kit. I'll have to report you to the FX abuse agency (FXAA)

well, just another reason to not to use them or not to put them like that. This is a Vortex Generator that gets used on a plane:

The whole purpose of it is to help the air stay on the surface and it flows smoothly that way instead of separating from the surface. If you position them the other way before a lip/wing spoiler (like on Evos), it'll be most useful. Otherwise, it's just an obstruction that slows the air speed at the top end of the car, reducing pressure and reducing down force.. :smile: and it looks ugly man, honestly..
 
they look like they would create more drag than anything, besides just looking weird. lip spoiler is your best bet if you want something along these lines. apparently you have to contact the guy, he doesn't list them, or something?
 
it's ok Ash, me and a friend did the same thing when were like 14. left something in an oven to get heated up so we could change it, and it kinda melted.
