(Trunk / lift gate) Bike Racks

Hello all!
I can't find any trunk mounted bike rack for the FX. Are there any co. in particular that make them?
I don't wan't a roof rack (wont fit our subterenean garage plus I'm small!)
I find the hitch to be expensive; I'll only use it a couple of times a month.

For now the bike rides inside the FX. It's fine if the weather is dry.
Now that the weather here is wet, -which for me is more fun riding the trail!- But the lack of bike rack keeps me off of them :(

Thanx

I have yet to see a trunk bike mount for the the FX. You may be able to find a universal one and see if that fits the FX but I don't think it will. Only real options are the roof or hitch mounts.

Thanks Doc!
I tried one but when I read the "vehicle application guide" It stated that its not for FX35/45. :embarrassed: I returned it. I now check the vehicle application guide to see if it can accomodate the FX. I can't find any.
I was just hoping someone here would know a low profile yet sturdy company that provides a rack for the FX.

Saris Bones is about as good a trunk mount as you will find. Good product, great company. I would still invest in a hitch though.

Do any of the FXs that came out ever come out with a tow hitch? wouldn't look nice but still would be functional tho...btw, ur saying that's it? who else has 9 inch headrest monitors? unless that was meant to be sarcasm in ur sig. was it?

No it's not... What I meant was my FX only came with touring. I didn't get the sports nor the tech packages. And I feel sorry for not (at least the sport) getting them (hence the sad face). besides I didn't say "that's it" but "just touring".

Thanks for all your inputs! It looks like I'm gonna have to go with the hitch.

I wonder why Thule indicated that this is not applicable for our FX?

The saris bones will work, but it is not (even a little) ideal. Do your bike and your FX a favor and commit to the hitch. Go with a saris thelma and you will never look back!

Thank you all!
Hitch receiver installed! no more dirty/muddy interior!

So this weekend I took the GF up to big bear for a few days. Figured we would do a little biking around the lake so i hitched up the bike rack and racked them up.

So Saturday we get to the lake and park the beauty of mine. When i head to the back i saw that my exhaust had not only heated up my tires on my mountain bike but grilled the tires like a marsh mellow to the point where my tire had flaked off in pieces.

I think it's time for a new bike rack!!!! Preferable one that sits higher due to the duel exhaust.

No problem. I manage a bike shop, so it's the least I can do. The cool thing about the thelma is that it doesn't touch any paint. Both the car and the bike are left unscratched.

 Oh! Thank you! ...good thing the bike rack is just borrowed! I've to keep that in mind when I purchase my bike rack.

can you let us know which model you bought? I would like to buy the same Saris Thelma.

I haven't purchased one yet... they're pricey! but im leaning towards the model Thelma 4219.
