Blind Spots

Today, as i entered the freeway, i went straight to the fast lane and didn't notice a white Trailblazer in the lane. This has never happened to me before. probably because it was white and blended in with the cloudy white sky so well. I just did sorta like a sorry signal as i realized he was there. I felt so bad for him and about myself. How are you ppl managing with you blind spots?

by not shooting across 4 lanes of traffic at once. :stupid: and by constantly watching the lanes around me, even if i have no plan to change, just in case i change my mind.
 
My worse blind spot would be the driver side front pillar. I almost ran over pedestrians crossing the road when I make a left turn:eek:. But I make a more conscious effort now to look for the slow ones :wink:

yes, yes, yes! I've almost killed like 4 people not seeing them because of the pillar turning left. Once it was a lady with a baby carriage. Scared the hell out of me! Now I'm like bobbin and weavin my head back and forth to make sure.
 
I hate guys that just HAVE to get way over as soon as they get on a highway, never fails, you could be flying in the middle lane but do they care, nooo, they just HAVE to get over or they don't feel like there really on the highway or something... then you wind up right up there ass braking hard for no reason like your supposed to just be able to drive through them or something... stay in the right lane till your moving at highway speed at least!:tongue:
 
easiest way to avoid blind spots is just to look out the window. i never rely on my mirrors except for the rearview where i can watch a car approach and then see when it has passed me.
 
You sure do start a lot of threads. Anyway...

If you properly adjust your mirrors, the FX has virtually no blind spots. Lean your head against the driver's side window and move the driver's mirror left until you can just barely see the side of the car. Next, position your head over the center console armrest and move the passenger side mirror right until you can just barely see the passenger side of the car. Position the rear view mirror so you can see out the entire rear window.

Most people have blind spots because they refuse to follow this easy method. It feels odd at first having the mirrors adjusted so far out but you will quickly realize the benefits.

all good points. You wouldn't believe how many people I see every day with misaligned rear view mirrors - it's scary. It just means they have absolutely no idea what's behind them:eek:
