Tranny question

whey guys i have a 2003 fx35 with 55.000k on it. Now when i put the tranny in drive and stop at a red light or just stop: theres a slight knocking sound comming from the tranny ( actually it sounds like its comming from. Under the hood) Same thing happens when i put it in reverse. Now when i put it in park the knocking stops, or when i start to drive off from the stopped possition once i press the gas the knocking stops.

Any ideas what that might be??? Went to the dealer those assholes dont hear nothing

First I heard of this. How long have you had this knocking noise? Are you the original owner of the FX or did you recently purchase it used?
 
I bought the car used.....last year. I starterd hearing those knocking sounds about 2 months ago. They only come on when the tranny is in drive or reverse.

Also , why dont they just do a fluid change at the least for the tranny? did they check the trans fluid? or maybe the sound is not coming from the trans?
 
THANKS.....WELL you can clearly hear it while i shift the tranny to drive or reverse in stop position. therwise while i shift to park it stops so im thinkng tranny.

Now you think i should change the tranny fluid??? is that a good idea???

all recalls are up to date.
 
Ok went to the dealer to get the tranny fluid changed. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The tranny shifts much smoother. It was definately worth the 160$. They have the new machine that sucks out the sluge then they flush the tranny twice and fill with new fluid. It took about two hours.....but I'm glad I did it. Knocking is gone.
