What other cars did you consider buying before the FX?

first car was actually a brand new 2006 Mazda 3. I quickly realized that it was way to small for me so i sold it and starting looking for new rides, preferably SUV's. I was all over the place though, i didnt know what i wanted:
Murano
Frontier
FX 35/45
Xterra(offroad one)
Grand Cherokee
MB ML63
Cayenne S

I wanted the MB mostly but didnt like the idea of high payments every month so i chose the 45 and dont regret it one bit. FX !!!

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
2008 Audi Q7 4.2 s-line

The first had the speed I wanted (not the gas milleage), but was lacking on luxury.
Q7 lacked on speed.
Anything else seemed not to have either or too much. Didn't consider anything from BMW or Merc, didn't want either.

I considered:
-Jeep Compass (uncomfortable and cheap)
-Acura MDX (too expensive) and RDX (turbo lag)
-BMW X3 (cheap interior) X5 (expensive) and x6 (expensive). Why get an underpowered BMW?
-VW Passat CC (too big, not much space inside)
-Audi Q4 (expensive, low-tech)
-MB ML63 (extremely expensive, extra heavy, boxy, inefficient, and common)
-Evo X (surprisingly non-luxury, terrible interior)

-Infiniti EX (light, excellent space and acceleration. but "Bigger is Better" made Infiniti reduce the luxury level and price)

I went into literally every dealership in town. I test-drove every crossover except the Audi, from Suzuki to Hyundai to the BMW and Land Rover. Many were oddly uncomfortable. Generally they were much of the muchness, usually with some fatal flaw.

I wanted the EX with a 7-speed gearbox. I went with the FX50. If it couldn't be the EX, I wanted the bigger engine to offset the unnecessary extra weight and size. I wanted technology and power. Infiniti delivered (literally).

the cars I was thinking of getting, was an (X5, audi A6, MB ML 500 or 320 and MB S500). But after my brother inlaw got an '07 FX35 and he let me drive it a couple of times. I knew I had to get one. I have no regrets on my decision

I had a 04 G35 and needed more room, my choices in upgrades were a M35 or a FX35,my choice was a 05 FX35 AWD.For myself and my family I couldn't of made a better choice.

BMW X5/X6, Range Rover sports.... But 9K less MSRP with bells and whistles went with FX35 only regret is should have gotten FX50 instead.

Didn't consider anything else but a FX. I almost bought a 08 in berrylium, but the salesman at the dealer told me to drive a 09 and I was convinced right away. Possibly thinking of trading for a FX50 within a year or two when prices go down.

Good to know I won't have issues selling my FX50 S when I decide to get a newer one!

Haha I originally wanted the 09 in white but it had tan interior and I wanted black. I wanted one right away so I settled for mine. Overall happy with it. Only seen one around so far. I've been seeing 09 FX50S's go for high 30's with like 30-40kmiles. I got mine at a steal so I couldn't pass it up.

I have exactly what you are looking for lol!!! I love it, absolutely love it....I stare at it all the time. The pictures I have don't do it's justice AT ALL. I've been meaning to take good pictures, but can't find a good spot for it since winter is approaching.

I got a steal on mine too (after all the paperwork was done and before I drove off, the salesman said they lost $4,000 on the deal - I was talking to him about how many FX50s they get in the year and this made him mention this. I didn't believe him, but he said they do that sometimes and it doesn't matter as long as at the end of the month hopefully and for the year the numbers are positive. The owner of the Infiniti dealer paid too much for this car from the Infiniti only factory auction and it was sitting on the lot for almost 2 months costing them a fortune in interest fees, plus 2011 models coming out, winter coming, etc so they decided to take the bullet and lose big on it), came with Tech package and 100k Infiniti factory warranty. I know it sounds dumb but one of my biggest requirements was that the bumper didn't have a license plate spot for it and no holes since one of the biggest things I love about Michigan is no stupid license plate needed in the front so I didn't want it to have holes. Also had to be flawless - no dent, no scratch, etc.

It doesn't turn heads as much as I thought it would though...when I had the Cobra, I'd get people asking about it almost every time I pulled up at the gas station. That was all fast and sporty no luxury. I guess you don't get that as much when the cars get more luxurious.

Lexus RX, Volvo S60, and the G35 sedan. I was looking for something roomy but still fun to drive. There's too many of the lexus RX's driving where around I live (mainly soccer moms) and I wanted something a little more unique and stylish so I went with the fx35 and haven't regretted it since!!

I wanted a beryllium FX since the first day I saw it! At the time it was not in my $$ range. After having one for 4 years, 03 AWD, I looked at a few other cars before deciding on another FX.

Jeep SRT8 - Agree with another member.. looks good, sounds better and is quick but lacks luxury.

M45 - Felt too much like a family car to me.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe - Loved it, impressed with fit, finish and performance but did not want to go back to a coupe.

Acura TL - to FWD and that absurd silver trim everywhere.

Pontiac G8 - IN theory seemed like a good idea, husband ready to modify the hell out of it! Looks good outside, just plain hideous inside. I was shocked at the hideous orange gauges. Screams 80's Fiero to me!

Audi - SUV/Wagon - too $$ to buy and maintain :)

I drove my 07 FX and was in love all over again!

i wanted to get audis a6 but i owned beamer 530 so didnt wana sedan.. i considered bmw X6 but dad didnt like the rear so ended up with this n am verry verry happy with my FX

Before going with or the FX I was looking at the 07+ Altima 3.5SE CVT, 06+ M35, 07+ G35 (manual or auto), 10+ Rogue

Previously had an 04 Infiniti G35C 6mt as my daily driver and a Dodge pickup for winters and hauling stuff around.
I was looking to consolidate (at least that was my justification ) so I wouldn't have to maintain and insure two vehicles.
I was already an Infiniti fanatic after owning the G for about 4 years so I was already sold on the FX35. I kept seeing them all winter long and it was making me envious.
I briefly considered the Acura RDX which was just released at the time but realized that it did not have the same capacity of the FX.

while the FX35 cannot hold as much as my old pickup, it certainly had its fair share of work
