Hey guys, I've been noticing something when I drive my car in Tiptronic. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd the car makes a knock sound. Like I ran over something.. .Sometimes it's rough, sometimes it's soft. But I've noticed this time and time over again.. Only from these 2 gears.. any ideas?

at what rpm are you shifting? Mine used to do that at low RPM's. I don't shift gear until about 5k RPM

i get this occasionally sometimes but i think it has to do with my shifting. check and see if it occurs at all RPM's

i have a similar problem, although mine is with AT, not the manual mode, i dotn really use that. when driving home in traffic at low speed, sometimes when i go from coasting to applying gas, it kicks really hard. i think it is from 2-3 third gear but it is impossible to tell as i am in AT. since i'm going about 15mph i'm assuming its going from 2-3. its hard to reproduce as well, but it happens pretty consistently.

I get this occasionally at a little higher speed, at very minimal throttle position. Probably between 3rd and 4th. It feels like it's made a shift with the torque converter still locked up. A bit of a 'bump' between shifts, and can be fairly abrupt at times.

Hopefully, it's par for the course.

i remember talking about this a LONG time ago and i think everyone agreed that it was normal...its just the transmisson shifting hard
Beat me to it.
Its the tranny clapping on the 3rd gear hard.
I hate that noise cause i think i am wearing out the clutch.
Try to shift at a better time.

good i'm glad to hear that this is normal and not a tranny going bad or something. especially since i'm out of factory warrantee and only have the extended which is probably a nightmare to actually use.
