ecu flash and chips

actually i wouldnt have said anything, but it just so happens i read alot last night on how bad these guys are/have been. i guess i felt deceived because i thought they were good. glad i know better now. and ya, i think it is good to give out names also. if a place doesnt do good work, they deserved to be ratted out. i would just stick with uprev from now on though. was your FX ever damaged at SGP, or did it have alot of miles on it when you got it back?

I just Googled SGP and what I found on other forums was disturbing. Wish I had read some of that before I went there.

Interesting comment about the fuel injectors. Apparentally those did not get installed with the rest of the JWT kit. Oh, and the JWT kit comes with heat shielding. I guess it was an optional install also :err:

I was curious about tuning the JWT kit. I think the guys at Uprev were pretty much shooting me straight but for some reason I have become skeptical. I had heard good things about SGP. Not looking to get burned again.

well apparently SGP used to be really good, then some things happened and they went downhill. as early as 2005 i think from my research. anyways, i hope uprev works well for you, and they are closer.

is it true when you get your ecu chiped or flashed you lose your warranty?

and also have another quesiton is there like somethin you can do to change from ecu chip back to the stock ecu?

because my friend did it to his a3 and he can change it back and forth so that he can maintain his warranty

so dont know if there is such thing for the fx35
and wehre can i get this stuff done professionaly at?

Unless any problem is caused by the tuning, you don't lose your warranty LEGALLY. Application is another issue though.. Still, if you get a proper tune, you won't have any problems and the dealer can't understand it..

edit: If you're asking for professional tuning, do a search for Technosquare. If you're asking for switchable tunes, I believe piggybacks like UTEC & E-manage can do that as well as software flashes like UpRev Osiris.. The Audi one is a software tune. I believe you're talking about the APR tune for Audis. They can program 2-4 tunes and you can change it by steering wheel buttons etc..

My thoughts in bold below:

They have to prove that the issue was directly caused by the result of the flash. But it will create extra hassle for you if detected. Unless you have a really cool mod-friendly dealer.

That was probably the APR stg1 flash. I have APR stg2 on my Audi. Its flashed for 93 and stock. You can change maps using the cruise control stalk.

From my research, no.

Ege, often the guys at cipher and TS need to have your ECU code or number. Were can i find it.
And sorry to ask this guys :eeerr: but uhhhh were can i find our ECU in the car...??
HAven't seen it yet and wondering were it's located.

It's under the glove box, mounted to the right. It's easier to access it on 03-05. On 06+, you have to take apart everything.. Take a look at the DIY below:
In Cabin Micro Filter - InfinitiScene.com

I believe you can also take a look at it from below if you take out the lower plastic cover without taking everything down.

Can Uprev go from a stock tune...to a full tune? so say a certain wife is driving the car, I..uh... I mean he, puts it to stock...when he drives the car, then switch it back to full tune? I've seen Uprev when being used on the dyno. The guy just toggles the CControl and switches b/w tunes.

Also, if you take this into a dealer, if you switch it to the "stock" tune, and the dealer hooks up the Consult II, can it be found? or since it is officially stock, will it notify the tech that somethings up? or will it be hidden?

I'm still debating b/w this and technosquare.

I dont think the Dealer will see it - I think Dr2k has an experience with this.

If the ecu parameters have been programmed/flashed back to their stock settings then the dealer will not know. The only way they can really tell is if the ecu has been physically tampered with or removed. Well that's how it is with my 05. I don't know about newer models. Now if there is a piggyback system physically located somewhere inside the FX and the dealer can spot it then you would be out of luck with any related warranty.
