EG3 and Dr. 2K: Are you changing your struts/shocks because OEMs are shot? If so, how many miles did you log before OEMs went bad?

My mileage is relatively low at 37K. I'm just replacing them in hope for a better ride plus I have jiggling sound coming from my left front strut on rough roads. I blew (leak?) it somehow I guess. If I feel an improvement over the stocks, I'll purchase rears as well. If not, it'll be an early maintenance for fronts anyways..

ah, well the fronts are much more labor than the rears, so I would still say if 3 hrs is the estimate front & rear, expect just the fronts to be at least 2hrs of that, maybe 2.2 or so even...

I have 73k miles so it is time for to change them out.

Yea John, Steve at LMS basically said it would be the same price as the springs install.

Based on what Im reading its cheaper to do a spring install along with the struts? BTW...tirerack has the struts...I guess Im placing another order with them today.

the labor is eactly the same with either/or, so doing both at the same time you only pay the same labor as doing one or the other... pay for one & the other is pretty much included. technically the rears are an extra few bolts doing both over either/or, but should not change all that much ... fronts are exactly the same labor with either or both...

Springs will be delivered tomorrow, cant find any struts.....arg!!!!!!!!

That is for the whole set, 2 struts in the front, 2 shocks in the rear....correct?

Yes, the price is mentioned in the first post of this thread as well.. I bought them separately (fronts first then rears) and paid about $160 shipped for the fronts I believe.. If the price you mentioned above is for fronts only, that's a ripoff..

The price he mentioned is for all 4 corners...

Not bad deal, but it seems every now and then we run across deals ranging from ~$215-$230... if you want to wait.

The original order was cancelled, they only had the left strut, so I ordered it, found the right strut at another place, and found the rear shock absorbers in yet another place. Wow had to do some work on my day off...lol.

Did everyone receive their order from shockwarehouse? I'm thinking of purchasing a set but if it's still on backorder, I'll probably try another place.

I think a few members on this board received their orders. I think I placed my order a tad too late, as mine are still on backorder.
