intrax springs

ive tried so many places and no where seems to be able to get intrax springs. i desperatly want 2 get lowered, and eibachs and h&r's just dont go low enough for me.

I found this site that should have them according to their policy which states something like we say upfront if we don't have an item in the advertisement of the item. http://www.autocarparts.com/part/922/5199/

I also wanted to look at reviews of the spring. It rates from 1-10 with people which is expected, some say it rode terrible or caused the car to bottom out. So for the FX it might be ok, because we are so much higher than cars. Most did say that the car dropped more in the front. Couldn't find anybody with a truck or SUV that has used it.

Good luck, I haven't seen one person that has had the intrax yet. I also tried emailing intrax before and they never responded... So boo for intrax and yea for cut h&r's.

I will probably wait to see what's coming for 09 unless I find a compelling deal. I don't have too many options around my area to do good mods. Now their is one guy that seems to know what he is doing with trucks/cars, but no FX experience. Im installing my wheels/tires today, might let him roll my fenders if needed.

Oh nice. Can't wait to see your pics.

Cart before the horse...gees. The wheels hit the caliper, they are a 38 offset. Im wondering when guys are talking 15 or so, how do they get by, spacers Im assuming. I have to buy spacers or have the shop send me out the wheel with a 40 offset. Im pissed to say the least.

Damn, that sucks. That is too bad that the shop that sold you the wheels did not know how to sell you the correct off-set. If I were you, I would send them back and have them send the correct off-set.

Thats the plan, but I was thinking how is everyone else running different offsets. I've read about guys running 20 offset. Are they getting by with spacers....hmmmmmmmmm.

Remember, the lower the offset, the further the inside edge of the rim will be from the strut housing.

A 15et would be further from the caliper than a 38et. Putting a 20mm spacer on a 38et rim will give you a 18et offset, bringing that 38et rim 20mm further away from the caliper.

Thanks, but isn't our normal offset 40? Im confused by that, then shouldn't I have had enought room.

You should have enough room. I'm using 22x9 with 38 offset. You sure you have 38? Maybe they sent it wrong?

Well the wheel was obstructed barely by the caliper. I really like the wheel and if the offset cannot be remedied. I might go with spacers. Looking back at Ray's wheel, he has 22X10.5 wheels with 5mm spacers. I have 22X10, so in theory I should be able to run 10mm spacers to clear the caliper and hopefully not rub. Either way I plan to call the shop where I made the purchase on Monday. I called today but the person I needed to speak with had gone home for the day.

offset has nothing to do with caliper clearance, that's 100% determined by the design of the wheel center itself, don't assume a different offset will fit, many wheels use the same wheel center across different offsets, just altering the barrel in & out. brake clearance is always a consideration in choosing a wheel, or at least should be...

some one piece wheels may machine the rear of the face mounting to alter offset, in a case like that less offset will result in more caliper clearance because the mounting pad will be cut less, every wheel design is different though...

Turbo thanks, I was totally confused, and in my mind the only thing that was making sense was what you just stated about the design of the wheel. I thought that everything was in spec, but I gave no consideration to the caliper because I thought it was all about the offset. Thanks again.

Just got an email from intrax, looks like their springs are still in development and will be out after summer, I'm not holding my breath.
