Now

I somehow thought Ray's wheels were 10 in the subconsciousness.. Well, 285/35 will be fine then  If you think about Spideros, streetdreams.org had the best prices at the time I bought them..

Most of the GIAs I've seen run either 9 or 10.5.
You could always stagger it. Pretty sure TrainerKen is Staggered, & his looks killer.
Dr.2K runs 10's on all corners w/305s, but can only get away with it cause he's running a 40ET. He also had to shave cuz of rubbing.

Staggered?

When you say staggered, do you mean 9s in the front, 10.5 in the rear. Will that work without mods to the body if I went with 285/35/22 all the way around vs the 305s? I checked with a shop and he advised against it because I have an AWD FX 45. Guys I appreciate your help. The people out here don't seem to be very knowledgeable. Thanks

As long as the overall tire+wheel diameter is close, you shouldn't have any issues with a staggered setup. Still, I think it's better to keep everything same on all corners in an AWD car..

Thanks again for that advice. Im just trying to get that "look" the first time...lol. Ok because of the AWD I will get the same wheels and tires on all the corners. I think I will go with the 285/35/22. I will stop by this shop to have a guy look at my FX to see what work may have to be done if I go with the 10.5s. I like that aggressive stance, but not too flashy.

offset is the decisive factor on both the look and the fit. Get a low offset and the tires will stick out further and it'll look awesome but it might rub. Get a high offset and you won't have any rubbing issues but tires will look tucked in. I believe the best offset is around 30-35 and with 285/35 tires on a 10.5 rim, those will look good, IMO. If you're getting spideros @10.5 width, the offset will be the stock @ 40 and they will look a little tucked.

-whispering quietly- shhhtt Ray! Trying to convince him not to get it!

uhhmm yeah the spacers can cause problems

Ohhh uhhh....yeah if find those Spideros wayyy to commercial.....so many people already have them

And about the spacers.....yes true can cuase problems in trembling and such ( no kidding ) Not that i have any but it still can. Especially at the fornt......

Well, yes joking aside, if you're going to get spacers, get high quality ones and don't go for a too thick one. Spacers put extra strain on the hub which can cause your bearings to go bad and vibrations at the end.. If going for spideros & 285/35s, I say get them first, see how they look and if you want a more aggressive stance, get spacers. A 10-15 mm spacer will give you a better look with this setup, taking it out about 20-25 mm (10 mm from the tire+wheel plus 10-15 mm from the spacer) out.

Honestly i havent' had any issues of such kind on my prior cars as long as you don't go too extreme.
But Ege this is what he don't want so i think as you say only the wheels will be just fine.
Maybe you have a newer pic off your wheels for him too see your dimensions, as i do like your setup as well. You now have 285's as i understand then....??

There's a crappy phone cam shot on post #58 in this thread. I will take better pics but the weather is crazy nowadays (it was 15F this morning!) so that'll have to wait a bit. The only thing I can say that is it fills the gap a little less and looks a little more tucked in now but it's worth getting rid of that humming noise with the Falkens.

hey, sorry for the OT but this actually seems like the current topic here anyway:tongue: so, ray, what is the offset on your rear 10.5's? what size tire are you running & in your opinion, how much room do you think you'd have to tuck them in a bit more? are you close on the inside? I'm talking rears only... thanks...

Edge, have you replaced the Falkens? If so, what are you running now? Im on the east coast as your are and Im sure Boston gets more snow. How does your current setup/tires perform? Thanks

i have the yokohama parada spec-x as well in a 265-50 R20. From what i have been able to find these are better in the snow than the Bridgestone Potenza's i have on my OEM 18's. I plan on running the parada's until we hit some snow, and see how they do. i wasn't impressed at all with the potenza's last year, so i'm hoping the parada's are better, then i can just run the 20's all year long.
