its probably the filter, mind is starting to do that too. not sure but theres a different filter that prevents the smell, i think its carbon or something. Im sure someone else can help here

Im at the amazon right now looking at it ... but I have one question !
Sorry guys, but what would be the difference between a carbon and a reg. one ?
Im about to order the carbon one like you guys told me to !! but i was just curious about it

it has activated carbon that absorbs odors. The regular one does not.

had this problem before. thought it was related to smoking inside my car. but actually cheryl form metro infiniti told me everytime i turn off my ac i should let the fan run to dry the filter or else the filter will start to mold, hence the smelly ac

Back from the dead!

Are there any other fixes to the moisture in the box such as drilling a vent hole or something?

Also, has anyone tried the FRAM filter?

I saw them on ebay for $16 + 3.95 shipping.

It looks like they have activated carbon AND baking soda...

Seeing that it's getting to be A/C season in Colorado I think I will...

I'll have to order them tonight, not really supposed to be buying things on Ebay at work ;)

Yup, that Fram filter work's fine.

+1. I had the same a/c funk so I changed up the in-cabin air filter with the FRAM one using the DIY above. Problem solved and now ready for the CA summer heat!
Great DIY by the way, only took me 10 minutes or so.
