Windows Tint On top of Stock ones

Just keep in mind that it cost more to remove the tint than to put it on. I paid $50 to do my 2 front and paid $80 to remove it.

Remove costs like $5....goto the local hardware store, pick up some razor blades and put in some sweat.

Seems so easy when you say it .. I guess it depends how long it's been on the window, to remove the glue and everything is a PITA.

Well, if it been on the car a long time, then I would use a hair dryer and a razor blade. using the H D you heat up the area while you pull the tint off in a angle. either way, I hate putting on tint and removal.

If you have tint on the hatch, you also have to worry about damaging the defoggers when you're removing the tint.

some tint comes off clean & it could be a 5-10 min job... some tints can be a real pita though & be a real bitch coming off, piece by piece & leaving a ton of residue... depends on the tint really & of course how long it's been there...

Just got a window tint ticket in fairfield less than a year ago. Tried to get my chp buddy to sign it off but the asshole cop didn't check the "dismissible" box next to violation code number, probably on purpose. When my buddy saw that he said some cops are just dicks. Now its not a fix it ticket. So then a just pleaded guilty and paid the fine and never removed the tint. Now every time i get pulled over they'll see my prior offense and cite me again. F'm, i'll keep the tint. Btw ticket was like $130

Hey guys i was planning to put some windows tints on my car soon... but for the back ones i was thinking about it to put on top of the stock tints to look darker !
But i was wondering if i would have any problems doing that.. and how did you guys with tints did yours ???

Thank you !
Daniel

Hey DP, well yeah I have Limo tint on all my back windows and it's fine. I see perfectly. Sometimes if I'm in a really dark area at night I roll down my front windows to look out. hahahaha but other than that it's fine.

I'm not too sure where in L.A. you live, but the shop I go to does good work and very reasonable pricing. You also get a lifetime warranty.

I got a fix it ticket before on my old Altima and it was like $25.00 plus I had to take it off. But since I have been going to that tint shop for years, he didn't charge me to take off the tint.

So if you want more info, PM me.

If you are near downtown then I suggest Song's Tint Masters near Washington Blvd. and Arlington. They do great work and have many tint selections.

$100 bucks for all windows.... maybe cheap is not always the way huh ?

Yea, you usually get what you pay for. Ceramic tint is the best. I was just there this past week to get my tint removed cause of a ticket but I will be back there to redo them this week or next.

I redid all our tint and windows. On my G I have the front windshield tinted @40%. I think I'm leaving the FX alone.

I remember seeing your G at the parking lot over there by sepulveda and western ... i was talking to you with a friend that also has a G !!!

Love ur air susp. alsoo !!!

anbody that has ceramic tint wanna comment on their cabin temps? is it all its cracked up to be? i'm thinking of getting a 0% ceramic tint for the uv protection and cabin heat reduction.

I just want to clarify some confusion I have here... do you mean 0% as in not tinted at all, just for the UV/heat protection? Or do you mean 0% as in it lets 0% reflected light out, aka opaque black? :embarrassed: (5% = limo tint, 20% = close factory match, 50% = very light "smoke" color, and 100% = clear, lets all light in and back out)

I have ceramic tint on my windshield (0%). it works I guess, but mainly blocks out the UV. I dont think I could "feel" a difference in the cabin temps. (I guess its similar to a sun visor, cabin is still hot.)

I like it , but it was expensive ... 2 bills for the front only. I have regular tint on the sides.

the shop that installed it did a little demo for me. We put our hand under a halogen desk lamp (warm) and then he blocked it with the ceramic tint , couldnt feel the heat from lamp. plus my wife wants the added UV protection.
