Because its Cali I don't even touch the back with tinting over the stock tint.

I just got a Fix it ticket for having tint in the front.

If you do decide to do it. You can tint over the exisitng stock tint.

626FX and Deecrap have tinted the rear...

I hope they can chime in on your thread.

I did this in another car, limo tint over factory dark tint... it is so dark that you can't even see into the back with a flashlight... can be done no problem really as the factory tint is not a film but the glass itself is dark, so tiniting it is no different from tinting a clear window really..

Cali is the only state I know that has a Fix It ticket ... Does it mean you have to "fix it" and then pay the ticket? Or can you pay just pay ticket?

Just like John said there is no different then tinting clear windows. Also being Cali makes a difference with the tint laws so be aware like Bert said you could get stopped if your front is to dark. I have tinted all my windows with limo tint F/R which makes my windows extremely dark in the rear. I enjoy having dark windows but it does take some getting use to having. also just some did you know info. All tint will fade over time, some slower then others, so pick your tint, or tint shop carefully. all film is not created equal...

you get it fixed and they have it inspected (Police station) then pay the ticket.
Sometime the Police at the station are too lazy yo inspect your car and just signs it off or better yet have a police buddy sign it off.

Damn .. that means you have to remove the tint, pay the ticket and then put the tint back on (if you choose to) if you dont know a cop?

yes.. Plus I dunno how much the ticket will be.

my guess ... $100.. (hope fully not)

Any place that has a law enforcement officer or an authorized inspection/installation station agent who can sign it. The violation will be dismissed by the court after *proof of correction* and payment of a transaction fee are presented to the court by mail or in person by the appearance date. The transaction fee for each case is $10 pursuant to Vehicle Code section 40610(a).

Just take it to a tint shop and have them do it. If you are planning on doing the fronts (driver. passenger) then have them do a light or medium, cause dark will get you a ticket sooner or later (especially in Glendale and Downtown LA ... that is where I got a fix it). They pulled me over just for that.

At least in IL, the rule usually is absolutely no tint from the driver forward, unless you have a medical condition that warrants it and a doc's note that okays it. You then have to fill out some paperwork and have it submitted with the doctor's approval.

As for the rears... there is no law concerning how dark they can be.

I believe the fix-it-ticket in IL is very minimal... either $0 or $25, possible somewhere in between, as long as you get the tint removed and show proof.

Thank you guys for all the advice !! I am planning to put some tints on the front but im going easy on that... im really trying to stay away from those tickets !!!

if you want more UV protection, you can also tint the front windshield clear ceramic.
I had a tint shop put on a clear UV ceramic film "tint" to cover the front windshield. My wifes has fair skin and this was more of a safety thing for us. It wasn't cheap, the shop charged us $200. (lifetime warranty).

It does block allot of heat coming into the car also.

wow $200.... but is for a good reason  !!
so.. the clear ceramic you wouldn't be able to see it at all ?
or does still gets a lil darker ?

$200 for a cermaic tint for the front windshield is a pretty good price. I was quoted approx $240 for Huber Optik ceramic for the front windshield.

its clear, but when I first got it . you can barely see the tint. now its invisible. but I guess you can always do a slight tint if you want, very hard to prove by the cops.
