Reverse Cameara + DVD player + Navigation

Ok we have our 05 FX35 Sport Package. We love it...but we want to upgrade things. First off we were looking at this reverse camera, I know that was an option, so can we only get it done at the dealer...if so do I have to give up my first born to afford it?

Secondly...DVD player came as an option...same question

Thirdly..same for Navigation
 
sounds like you don't have the Technology package.

Yeah we lack the technology package...which we really want in the car now actually but not sure if it's easier to buy our own products and get them installed or get the factory upgrade.
 
I can tell you that the OEM stuff will probably be more expensive and less appealing. To go OEM, you will have to take out the orange screen and install the color one (radio adn all ,not a straight forward swap) Thats why most Fxers go the aftermarket route , plus you get all the nice features that come with it.

hmm thats right I forgot about having to swap screens...darn.

How would we utilize that orange screen but still upgrade though? Like with a flipdown screen for the backseats and dvd player?

some people have relocated the screen to where the clock is. This is when it gets tricky. I know a few members have done this (turbocad6 , don't remeber who else). I also seen a guy install a pop-up dvd screen from the center speaker (saw on you tube)

So your other choices would be to leave it there and do a dvd where the clock is. BTW, you can't take out the cassette player (maybe you can but I have not read about it anywhere)

See that is the issue. My wife does NOT want to get things complicated and all custom for the FX, she wants to keep it clean and simple. No cutting here, or molding there..just a simple BAM BAM, done and looks factory
 
First of all welcome to the Scene.

There really isnt anthing out there that will provide you what you are looking for and keep your ride looking Stock.

Not even the stealership will be able to do what you want. If so there will be a need to install 2 seperate modules to control the Camera and DVD and then a Hard Drive to manage the Nav. This would cost no more than 4 to 6K including labor.

Where you take your FX from here is up to you..

yes tech package with nav (did mod so I can use navigation input while driving). The stock nav is ok, my Garmin Nuvi is sooo much better. But the rear dvd is cool, I just need to add the NAV-TV to my head unit so I can watch DVDs in the front screen.

See what I mean about fxlr8s setup, looks cool and full of function.
 
So how much is the tech package? I was reading for the 06 and it said its $4,200 for just the basic tech upgrade and you need to upgrade THAT ONE to the dvd one and it's $1,200 more..so like $6,400???
 
sounds about right, If you check out my list of mods (click signature link) I bought my FX in March .... 2008! So Im a newbie on a steep learning curve.:wink:
