Navigation DVD

I have a 2005 FX35 and would like to upgrade the navigation software. Do I have to use the disc for the 2005-2006, or can I just try and get the latest disc.

you cannot use the 2006-2008 discs. Different software. You need a 6.x version. Go to www.zenrin.com for new discs. They also show coverage for the different revisions.

How do I determine what version I have?

I think it said somewhere on the screen, but I just eject the dvd and read what it said.
The dvd is located behind (underneath) the passenger seat. you do not need to have the car on to do this. The version will be written on the DVD
