Installing a DVD player

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone have removed the cassette player and replaced it with a DVD player (the type with the pop up screen). If so, did you have any problems with the install? I would like to keep the "door" to keep out any dust. I don't use the cassette player and thought it would be cool to have a DVD player.:4tongue:
Thanks for your help!

I don't think you can remove just the cassette becasue it is part of the whole radio. Other members have install where clock is (removed clock) and I seen one that popped out fro the center speaker and still others have removed the screen and replaced it with a nav/radio/dvd

i've seen something where the casette is..i think satellite...but you have to take apart the whole unit and do rewire, cuttign of plastice, and re-locating of brace points. i think itll be a p.i.t.a....but it would be awesome!!!!! i know this cuz its something i wanted to do!!! haha

I thought about doing that as well, its the perfect location but seems like a pain in the ass. The unit thats was tucked under the center speaker was pretty slick, perfect location for watching a flick while driving! BB

the same stuffs passed to my head so i asked to my friend which owns a sound shop
about taking the stock screen (no navi) and put another double din instead ....
but he mention something about the warranty on my a/c's ?? maybe something else but is it true ?
ohh yea forgot to mention is where would you guy's leave the oem screen for us be able to see the a/c screen ?:err:

thank you
daniel

I'm pretty sure there was a FXer that hacked the cassette portion out and the upper part of the unit still worked. He put an Alpine single din headunit in it's place, but it was not behind the door.
