I wanted to start a new thread for anyone in our community who have test driven the new 2nd generation FX and what their experiences were. This will help all of us and any prespective new owners see what options they might want or not want:

I test drove the FX50S at Infiniti of Santa Monica on Saturday (July 5, 2008)..
Model: FX50 S
Drive Train: 5.0 Liter V8
AWD or RWD: AWD
Packages: Sport Package / Tech Package
MSRP: $63,487
All I have to say is WOW.. 0 to 60 is great and the Stopping power is amazing compared to our 1st gen.
The only thing is that the hood sits up higher than the 1st gen. I feel that I am only looking up and really can't see the road when it comes to avoiding pot holes and when it came to head in parking it was a disaster. Guess that's another good reason to have the front camera.
One thing I did hate when I flipped to Manual from Automatic is that the Tranny defaulted to MS (Manual Sport) and had to do an additional shift to change it to Manual... (IE... Shift = MS ===> Shift = 3rd or 4th gear.) ughghgh..
Such a disappointment.......
Another thing I did not like is how the accelerator pedal is placed just like a BMW 7 series.. The pedal is placed flush to the floor. When you punch it down it does not seem that you are really punching the Accelerator Pedal. It feels more like you are engaging and pressing a button on the floor. Not that much room to enjoy the feeling of pressing the accelerator down and feeling like you really are opening her up. You are limited to about 6 inches of fun.. (I actually measured the apx. distance from the top of the accelerator to the Rubber Stop that the accelerator pedal hits when you punch it:nerd
Just a couple of Pro's that I found when I test drove it. BTW I don't know how anyone will be able to design a STB for this baby.... The pillars are set almost like the G's the engine is set about 2 to 3 inches above the pillars. WOW...
And forget about lowering the FX S series. The stance has a range of Sport (Lowering the FX) to supposedly (Sales Person said this and I started to laugh and then he gave me a dirty look.. :crossedlips::nerd
off road stance... It lowers about 1/2 inch.. Not that much of a difference.. the EX is looking more mod friendly now than the FX.
But only time will tell...
