2009 fx 35

So i found someone over on the G forums that bought the new fx

New Infiniti in the garage.. 09 FX35 - MyG37

sorry if its a repost...

The wife traded in her 06 FX35 this weekend. Driving impressions so far:

The suspension re-work (double wishbone in place of struts) makes for a smoother, more comfortable ride yet with less or equal body roll in the corners. The VQ35HR feels much more peppy than the 06 FX35's engine and seems to rev forever. The JATCO 7AT tranny is a big improvement. The two extra gears are mostly used to increase performance, with 7th used as a cruising gear that delivers about 2100rpm at 80mph. The tranny locks up the torque converter much more readily, which eliminates much of that "slush-box" feel you get from a loose TQ converter and makes the car feel more like a manual. The car also likes to downshift while slowing down, eliminating the previous FX's tendency to want to keep going as you approach a stop. This car feels like it wants to cooperate and come to a stop rather than fight you and keep rolling. Shift speeds seem about the same as the 07 G35 sedan's 5AT.

Overall I think it is as much a better FX as the G37 was a better G. The car is quieter inside, better assembled (smaller body panel gaps, better interior fit/finish), and can push you into the seat a bit now when accelerating.

Looks nice. I like it. I just think it would look better with a shark fin antenna, chrome side vents and I don't like the wood trim.

Other than that, I like it.

The rear is flat and nasty, maybe dropping it would look better. I would prefer the older style with the newer interior and engine.

The rear reminds me of one of those horrible body kits we've seen... actually it almost looks like the front end of that Chester the Cheetah body kit...

I'll wait to see what kind of spiffy things they do to the FX50 to decide on whether or not I like it. I think the fender vents are ugly as hell and tacky.

I think that the problem is like usually, when a new moodel is coming up, you we have to wait and see the new ones going on the roads ,than they seems pretty to your eyes

Well yeah, there's certain cars that "grow on you" and others that just never cut it. I will never really like the RX-8, the Scion xB, Mini, Honda Prelude, Acura Integra, just to name a few.

The most recent car to grow on me was the new GTR. At first I thought it was pretty ugly, and now the only thing I'd change about it is the hood vents.

This new FX... I can't really pinpoint the things I'd KEEP on it... possibly the headlights.

Yeah ,great interior but also pretty front head light ........ And about the 5.0 engine?''' I think we have to wait !!!!!! At the moment I prefer the back of mine
