I think you can probably tell by looking or feeling it, if it's clearcoated it'll look like it has an almost plastic coating on it... neverdull won't really hurt it if it's clearcoated I think, but it won't help anything either.

if your not sure, may be best to test a small spot... if the neverdull turns black then it's not clearcoated & you should see a difference in the shine as a shinnier spot where you rubbed it, if it's clear coated you'll see no black on the neverdull & it shouldn't affect the spot on the rim you tried..., start out gentle though, I don't think it could make a dull spot on a clearcoat, but just to be safe go easy at first...

if your not sure, next time your out this way pass by & I'll look at it & tell you...
