GTM Torque Converter & Valve Body...Here I Come

but I do know who you are referring to.
Yeah he'll defend 'em with everything he's got.

The bad experiences were mostly from reading on my350z.com, and a few were from here and the org. I didn't know you had L10 VB... stock TC? I've heard the VB didn't actually do a whole lot and wasn't very noticeable compared to stock.

I had the luxury to do the TC and VB separately. About 3 months apart. I did the TC first with Edge racing here in socal and the VB with lvl10 (no core exchange). I sent them my VB with a 3 day turnaround. There was definitely a very noticeable difference with both but more so with the VB then the TC. I love the combo and it is a very worthwhile mod for the FX. But if you had to choose I would go with the VB over the TC but the two compliment each other very very well.

can someone post some info for GTM (could not find them in google) . what was the cost for the valve body?

which one do people recommend? GTM, Stillen, Lvl10, etc ?

I know stillen is having a VB only for $691.95 (no labor)

Does having someone other than Techno Square flash a ECU a good idea? Since Im in socal I have a choice?

I don't have the cost with me right now, but I'll PM you once I get home. GTM is more expensive. I went with them because of their reputation, and the fact that they can do both TC & VB. As for ECU reflash, I thik you might be better off with Techno Square. I don't think GTM deals with as many FX's as Techno Square. I remember GTM saying they didn't have the map for my car, so it took them longer to reflash it.

if they reflashed your ecu, then they should have the map available now, right? not sure if it would work for specific mods, but they should have something to start from. cant go wrong with TS though.

which one do I have to install first??
valve body upgrade(transgo upgrade kit) vs torque converter(GTM)
I'm not decide.
also, If I get VB + TC then DO I have to get tranny cooler??

any suggest , advice.???

Tranny's biggest enemy is heat, heat will kill it & most tranny failures are heat related. To me tranny cooler should be #1 mod. The vb actually don't add to the heat levels & may even help fight heat slightly, but a looser converter most def add's to the heat & you really should add a good thermostatically controlled cooler with a higher stall converter for sure.

so...I need Tranny cooler first,,,then TC,,,then VB..right???

what is the "thermostatically controlled cooler with a higher stall converter" ? is it TC??

also, If I get a TC , should I go GTM 's torque converter? what else?
and also, transgo valve body kit is good??

if a cooler is very good at cooling the tranny fluid then it could potentially cool it too much, which is also very bad for a transmission believe it or not, a tranny works best & is at it's strongest at operating temperature, too cold or 2 hot is no good, so some good coolers have a thermostat that won't open until the fluid reaches operating temperature. I ment that is the best kind of cooler to get.

& yes, a high stall converter is the torque converter. the reason your changing it is to allow the engine to reach higher rpms before the converter really engages, it's kind of like when you let the clutch out. stock converter is like starting to let the clutch out at 1,200 rpm's/ fully engaged maybe 2,200 rpm's, while a 10" converter may be like starting to let the clutch out at 1,800 rpm's, & fully engaged at 3,400 rpm's... obviously the looser converter is going to help with acceleration but it also adds a whole lot of heat... every converter is different & some are not much looser than stock really, but the higher the stall speed the higher the heat generated with even normal driving. upgrading the TC should def get a cooler
