I originally owned the first littermaid which worked pretty well and lasted a couple years before I gave it to my mom. We then purchased the new style littermaid with the metal rake and I must say this is the worst litter box ever. The new design is total junk....The rake broke and always gets stuck on the clumps of litter. This new littermaid LME9250 is actually worse than a non mechanical litter box, we have to run upstairs every time it goes off because it always gets stuck. Please do not waste money on this model if you have cats and are looking for an automated litter box.

I would get one but too bad I don't have cats anymore. Maybe one day soon.
