Can't be getting 20mpg driving locally or mixed highway/local for that matter. Only way that's gonna happen is if you press reset on the mpg counter and head straight for highway driving at 60mph. And even then you better be on a straight highway with no hills.

If you avg 15-16mpg mixed local and highway driving you will be doing very well.

Oh cool Pierce. Yeah, before I was getting about 16mpg and that was mixed streets with freeways. I'll reset the mpg tomorrow morning.

Had lunch w/ Dr2k & HumbertoCali today and we decided to meet up for breakfast at the Dennys by the Ontario Mills @ 5AM. Then get out to the track about 6am, cuz the last time there was a line to get in. If you guys dont want to get breakfast I suggest meeting us at the Dennys by 5:45 or so.

I actually do get just under 20 mpg overall. I'd probably say like 85% highway 15% local streets. I always use cruise control going 70 mph (I can't get anymore speeding tickets). My drive (highway) outside of where I live is almost entirely going down (low grade decline), but coming home is a different story. There is no way I can get close to 20 mpg just on driving locally. I would probably get 15-16 mpg 100% local.

If I did 60% highway and 40% local. I'd probably get 18 mpg. Again, I always use cruise control and set my highway speed at 70 mph.

My wife always get 18 - 19 mpg from my FX35. 60% highway and 40% local.

I only reset my counter after each fill.

If you get 15-16 mpg mixed driving with FX35, you are having way too much fun with your car. I was averaging 15 mpg after I installed plenum spacer. I drove aggressively for 2 or 3 days. I honestly do not see why you can't meet this kind of mpg if you drive conservatively....

Maybe with FX45 15-16 mpg is very good? Maybe most of your driving is locally?

Goodness... You made your point man.

Just hard to beleive that any of us can get that kind of millage. No matter if it's a VQ or VK.

Also, would'nt your numbers be lower over all.,,? I mean you go down and you will have to come back up..

Just something to think about.:hmmmm2:

But if you say you get 20MPG I beleive you..

Were goin racing here - gas milage doesnt matter in this thread.....

No one believes me :embarrassed:

Is California Speedway in Fontana? I think I might come by and be a spectator. I am on baby duty and I think I can keep my son busy by watching you guys race

It's not that no one believes you Mongo, but its just that no one here has seen mileage like that without it being pretty much strictly highway driving. Also, goes against the reported avg's by infiniti.

And yes Cal speedway is in Fontana off cherry ave. Come on by and spectate if you don't want to race. Its all good.

Just a thought......today hit a high of 93* (SGV) so I'm thinking maybe someone can bring a canopy or something for some shade? Anyone have one?

Hope it cools down on trackday.

I don't have a canopy and i don't know of anyone that has one. So maybe you guys can get one from someone you know.
