Ok, so I decided I'm going to start with the appearance ladder of mods first..

So I bought a set of Foglights, and I was wondering if I can get some tips on installing it?
I was looking at the lower trim of the bumper, and came up clueless on how to install them.
and I searched through the forum for how-to's on foglights and came up with nothing as well :(

Help?

Oh, and reading through the forum, I noticed several of the members here, are efficient with working with headlights! I'm interested in blacking out the housing, anyone care to paint mine for me for some bills?

Thanks!

What specifically do you want to do with the Fogs..

Replace the bulbs or the acutal Fog lights?

You are going to have get under the car and bolt off the Oil plastic cover that connects to your bumper. Then you will need to just replace the bulbs.

If you have long arms you can just unscrew and temp. remove your air intake and your water resevoir bottle and replace the bulbs.

in regards to your blacking out your headlights, you should also consider changing the side markers from yellow to clear.

hope this helps.

Oh, thanks!

I'm trying to replace the fogs entirely.. not just the bulbs.
Think it's easier just to take it to a shop?

And yes, I want to change the side markers to clear as well, along with blacking out the housing :)

any shops anyone would recommend?

You can hit up Humbertocali to do the blacking out and clear corners, since youre in socal.

if you take the lower cover off you can change the fog lights without removing the front bumper.... one or 2 10mm nuts, hardest part is getting under there...

worse case may be that some of the bottom 10mm screws may need to be removed so you can pull the bottom of the bumper out a little, I did one a while ago, it is hard to get under there but I think it might be a bit easier than removing the whole bumper... I actually had one of my employees do it & yeah, did it without R&I the bumper... if I'm not mistaken the 03-05's are tougher than the 06+, the new 06 ups have only 1 10mm bolt from the rear of each light, easier...

Thanks for the tips guys!

I was thinking if *someone* would offer me their services! and paint my headlights, I can hit two birds with one stone and install the fogs while the bumper is off :) :) :)

so.. mighty sir Humbertocali, PM sent!

Ah, I didn't see he was an 06. So in that case then you are probably right John. My reply was based on the 03-05 fog lights.

Yeah, you were right Dr... I needed to take the entire bumper off.

I took my car to a body shop, and they quoted me 2.2.. so I said go ahead and found out

that the fogs I wanted to put on, do not fit on my bumper.. apparently it was designed for

05 and older. Weak. :mad::mad:

Yeah, not too excited about that. The clerk there quoted me $180 to begin with, saying the entire bumper needs to come off and how it's alot of work.
Didn't seem like too much to pay initially. How does that sound for a bumper removal job? Mechanics get paid 81 dollars an hour or something? :err:
anyways,

When the fogs didn't fit, they said it was my fault for being misinformed..

Yeah, so $180 dollars to find out that the $85 fogs I bought doesn't fit.

I'm returning the damn fogs.

They were Angel eye fogs... saw it on ebay, noticed the seller was a racing team/distributor in Azusa, not too far from where I live, so I went there and asked for the part. The guy told me it was distributed as fogs for Murano's and FX's of all years...

Yea, I had those on my FX for awhile and they worked fine but due to the hollow back part where the LEDS were located that part would always retain water after a car wash and fog up too. So took them out and replaced with a new set of oem fog lights. You should have asked on the boards before you decided to purchase them. That's what these forums are here for =) Anyways, now you know.

the 05 & down fogs are about an inch larger diameter than the 06 up. there are no aftermarkets anywhere yet for the 06 ups... I still say I can change them without removing the bumper:tongue:
