Used Supercharger question

Hi guys,

I found a used stillen superchager stage 3. I was woundering can the supercharger get damaged my miss using it? he is welling to sell it for around $4630K with intercooler, oil cooler and tranny cooler, is it worth it? i also wana know how can i know that it is Stage 3? and what would i need to upgrade it to stage 4 and have it for daily use.

Stage 2 is a blue pulley
Stage 3 is a gold pulley (skip this stage)

Stage 4 is a silver pulley, bigger injector, upgraded computer management, and new fuel pump.

The stillen supercharger is pretty much maintenance free besides the occasional belt changes. The gear oil in the supercharger itself only needs to be replaced at 100,000 miles.

Not really sure how you can inspect the blower itself other than a visual inspection.. making sure it spins freely and looks clean. You might also want to check the twin screws while you spin it for any damage.

Also 4600 seems like alot, since a new one can be had for around 4800.

im excited about this one cuz he lives in my country and i dont need to pay for the shipping. when i orderd the air intake system from stillen the shipping was like $200. BTW, in stillen site the S/C costs $4450!

Actually it is 5400 for a stage 2 but that is buying from stillen direct. Other vendors out there can give you a better deal. Like Joe from infinitipartsusa.com

But as you said shipping to your country could be very expensive.
 
Sometimes it's better to spend a few bucks extra for shipping and have a piece of mind knowing you're getting a brand new unit, instead of saving a few bucks on shipping and not being certain what you're getting is in fact a well maintained unit. Just my opinion :smile:.

That's right but the shipping will cost more than $1000 and i cant afford that.

If you are budgeting for a s/c, don't forget the cost of installation. If $1,000 for shipping puts you out of your budget, you may need to wait before you get a s/c installed.
