Fx Color Codes

FYI, when I was up north I took my car to a friend of mines body shop because I had a pretty good scratch on the passenger front door. When we went to the paint shop to get paint. The vin did not pull up a perfect match so we had to go with the most common. even with the paint code it still was not perfect. Anyway we ended up painting and blending darn near the whole side of the car. Mine is the bright silver and as a lot of you know silver, yellow, black and white are the hardest to match. The only reason I'm throwing this out this is for people who think they can but a pint of color matched paint and fix a small area and it matching perfectly. Anyway, thanks for a great site with a lot of useful information.

Good info Renhalt, but I should add a little bit to it too. I had to get my side painted last year and the body shop blended the whole front clip. They used Sherwin Williams auto paint and it turned out really good. Even the transition from the plastic bumper to the hood was seamless, there is no color variation. I also heard other reviews online that Sherwin Williams paint is one of the better ones that match/blend very well.
