radar detector

Haha, you're tellin me. Not naming anyone but its been noticed certain guys get in right behind me when we leave a stop point.

I have a Cobra XRS9440. although it's a cheap one, it hasnt let me down. ive done 100 mph so far, plan to try out 130+

Not to be an ass or anything but the radar detector has nothing to do with how fast you can go......you can pull 100 or 130 and if theres no radar aiming at ya, then you're cool as far as Im concerned.
 
it's all luck really. Both my tickets were for 50 in a 35. I've done much faster though. It's a fun game to play with cops. I win more than I lose. :biggrin:

+1 on that. The difference in prices for detectors are for the sensitivity and range. The high end detectors will give you much more time to react due to their higher sensitivity and range. With lasers though you are pretty dead either way.

but doc i was wondering which one is better caause one of them is has the latest update
and i think the other one doesnt but they have different prices so ionno which one i should get
 
I think the V1 is still good - but is really outdated as far as technology is now.
The only thing that its got is the arrows at this point that the others dont have.
I am currently using the Escort 9500i......great great technology. Has GPS so you can log all the places that false and it will remember those locations and the frequency that caused the false. It also lets you input Camera Intersections. Also everytime if gets a reading it will flash the speed that your are goin - pretty handy.

Im not saying that the V1 is a bad unit, but its a bit outdated with its design and technology.

Also remember - just cuz you have a Radar Detector doesnt mean you are invincible. They can still tag you the old fashion way........

You can weigh out the options - V1 has a trade in program but im not sure if there are costs in involved. you can buy the older version and see about trading it in for the updated one if cost isnt too much
 
dopie, between the 2 you posted I would definitely get the one with Ka band. All the cops pretty much use Ka and not K anymore.

Will's right too. If I were to get a new radar detector now I would buy the escort 9500i as it does have the latest technology.
 
I went with the Crips......hahahaha
the only differnce is $50 or so - but no differnce as far as the features are concerned.
 
Its a good unit - as long as its in your price range.
Comes with a lot of bells and whistles.

Again - the V1 is a good unit and gets the job done. But for me it was lacking a lot of the technology thats out there now.
