thanks pierce. how hard was it to do the headlamps due to the bulging shape?

I took the FX to stickcity and they did the headlights and rear lights. Took them about 2 hours with 2 people were working on them. I think I can do it myself now as I have done the fogs on another set, but the headlights will be difficulty due to the bulge. They had to cut slits for the vinyl on the headlights due to the extreme angles of the bulge. But I thnk with enough stretching, heat and patience you can get the whole headlight covered without the slits.

Mike, you can just stop by there and pick up just the pieces you need. No need to buy in bulk.

I would also like to do a ice blue vinyl tint on my headlights. Where is this "stickcity"? How much did the job cost? Thanks.

thanks pierce. i will be there this friday morning and meet with dutch(?) and decide on the tint. looking into light or medium only. im curious how to steel light look.

just got back from stickercity and here is the result:

ill post more pics on my photo thread. i picked the steel/light tint and it is supposed to get lighter after a few days. dutch was very nice and professional. at first there were big gaps above the turn signal of the headlamps due to the bulging part and i requested for them to cover it. you have to look close to see some gaps on the headlamps. i bought an extra film for my tail lights since and will do it later on. all i want is to cover the circle and match it with the tint.

Looks good but kind of dark don't you think Mike, how's the visibility? What kelvin rated bulbs are you using?

Btw, did they cover the whole headlight or did they cut slits like on mine?

dave, ill get better and closer pics with my cam instead of my iphone. was yours painted or overlay too?

pierce, my lights are stock. this is their light (steel) tint. there is iron which is barely noticeable based on the sample i saw. it should get lighter (i hope). i took some pics with the head/fogs on and there was no difference. according to the site, the light output reduction is 15%.

Wow, those are beautiful.

Can you please take close up pictures of the work on the headlights?

Did the film fit perfectly? Any noticeable bubbles?

This mod definitely looks

you got me there dave.

there are gaps esp at the bottom of the bulge and the turn signal. when i saw the gaps, i requested them to cover the top section and they did. close up pics coming up. these are visible if you look very close and from below.

they use the template posted on their site which was not designed to cover the whole housing. pierce, did they use a whole sheet first on yours then trim them in the process?

here's some close up pics:

overall, im happy with the way it turned out. it helped that i know ahead of time how hard it is to cover the whole thing and dutch clearing with me ahead that there will be gaps prior to the installation.
