HKS Exhaust on a FX45

Sweeeeet!

You might be the first with HKS fitted to 45. Would love to hear it under load. Did you do the Y too?

Thanks. No y-pipe, I was too late on the UTR and missed it. Yes, I turn a lot of heads when I floor the pedal=) What's the best way to record it under load? I just borrow my friends digital camera that records video, so I don't have any fancy equipment.

Man all aftermarket exhaust on the 45 sounds great. Its got some cojones! The Stillen, Nismo & HKS. Nice sound man.

Hey Dave - If I did that in my hood - as soon as I got back into the car, some kid would be running off with my camera.......damn ghetto neighborhood.

Ya, that's the truth.
I took this on franklin canyon, next to Coldwater canyon. No sidewalks, so no foot traffic

Here's the new y-pipe. This is 2.25" dual inlet to 3.00" outlet fitted to my 2.50" inlet HKS mid-pipe. Confirming 100% bolt-on. How does it feel? Car sounds louder, smoother, pedal feel improved, screams at WOT. Silent at idle and highway speeds except for the soft rumble of the HKS muffler. Basically a noticeable difference with swapping old y-pipe. I had another member with me and he agrees. Disclaimer - I don't have any dyno's or controlled scientific tests to prove any of this. This is just my opinion, I'm very happy I got this Y-pipe. I agree with Conrad, this y pipe alone I can feel the most gains.

Hmm...replied to the other thread first before seeing or reading this one. Looks good Ed and glad you like it. However, removing the xtra hanger on the mid-pipe might not be viable for people with the nismo as that exhaust needs the G35 extension piece and that also contributes a bit to the sag. But we won't know for sure until some tries that combination. All in all a good setup and alternative for someone looking to follow this route. Nice job Ed!

Decided to weigh the OEM y-pipe, it's about 17-18 lbs (bathroom scale). New y-pipe is 12 lbs. About a 5-6 lb savings.

I should have weighed the HKS exhaust and mid pipe, but oh well.
