Chedman13's 2003 FX45

Love the avatar Ed! Now what you need to get soonster to do is put a regular picture of u and put it standing leaning on the mini FX!

Looking great! can't wait to see it when your done!

Thanks.

The only warning on this location though is that the access to the manual fuel door opener is there.

It'll take a little work to unbolt the sound stream and access it, but I can't say I've ever used the manual fuel door opener.

Watch... my fuel door actuator will fail on me tomorrow.

Back to it, wiring takes a while.

My $50 e-fan shipped, still very impressed with it. Waiting for the fan harness before I can give a real review.

Not sure what to do with Bose center speaker, most likely just disconnecting and maybe taking out.

Looked at the O-rings on the valve cover, yup, built in. Oh well, hopefully just have to do this every 130,000 miles =)

Wow, that sure it lot of wiring. Your cousin will be the guy to go to for FX sound upgrade for the Chicago member once he done with your. She should be all redy by 08/21, right?

There any reason to not use the Bose center speaker? Nothing better would fit in that spot?

I'm too received my valve covers. I order the Motordyne ISO Thermal Gasket and hoping to have it in hand my by Thursday so I can start the installation.

After working on my car, he wants to get a FX now.... =) Except he wants to lose the spare tire and build a REAL system!

He had flu for a week which sidelined him -- I am hoping it's all done in 2 weeks...

No reason to he said, new speakers are much more powerful and also adding tweeters -- he said take it out and leave it. He said when I'm ready for it, but something motorized in there.

I think we'll put a Shuriken SK-BT20 battery in the trunk (hidden) for the amp and maybe a red top for the front.

Anyone have any suggestions on what exact battery model for the front (main)? Not sure what fits without modifications.

Okay, what did I get into.

Wiring will be clean, running 4 gauge power wire:

Bose subwoofers -- if they blow, I'll deal with it and upgrade:

Since the car is already working the alternator, adding a second performance battery will tax the alternator. So cross out 2nd battery.

In comes, high output alternator. 190 Amps, OEM is 110 Amps so 80 extra amps. The Alpine amplifier draws 60 amps, so that an extra 20 amps left over (= peace of mind to blow AC, charge phones, etc...). Have to do it right.

Then just throw a performance optima battery, probably red top for higher CCAs.
