Newb Attack!

well, went to the dealership yesterday to talk to our contact and check out a few fx's. He said he found the one we wanted and had it delivered from escondido. After 3 hours of negotiations we finally struck a killer deal, say hello to our family's newest addition:

Thanks humbert, i dont plan on doing a whole lot to the car, as its my wifes daily driver (ie picking up the kids, family outings etc). But she has agreed on a few things, wheels for one. We have a few sets picked out but unfortunately they will take as long as my wheels took to get made which is almost 6 months. =( oh well, its a new car and I intend on enjoying every aspect of it.

The First official Mod you should make is by pointing the attena straight forward... Like a Rhino... :laugh:

No no no - Unicorn is too fem....its like naming your ride after a feline. :err: We prefer the term "Rhino". Its more manly :wink:

sorry guys, but its a freekin unicorn whether we like it or not..hahaha..

it normally takes me 2 hours and some change to wash and detail my rx8, but man, i woke up this morning at 6am and finished at 10am. It had a lot of oxidation on the body so I had to give it a good clay baring, then hit it with some zaino. Smoothness is bliss
 
& that's only one layer:rofl: FX is really fat.

Good job getting on some Zaino right from the start. I wish I would have done that right away. Wouldve helped avoid some of those yellow dots & squiglies that dug into the paint. What the hell is that shit anyway? Jet fuel, acid rain, pollution . . . Bee shit???

haha i've heard most of your above mention, I seriosuly think it bird pee. hahaha

BTW, zaino is good stuff, I normally use meguiars tech wax which works just as good but faster, but only downside to tech wax is that it doesnt stay on very long.
 
Deedubb, we going to get some CF threads like the RX8club boards:wink:. Congrats on the FX, looking mighty stock for you.

hahaha u saw those?! haha well it all depends on the wifey, I think she's seen enough carbon fiber to last her a lifetime. But some carbon fiber pillars would be nice, anyone make them?

While a vallient effort, Sckent had some sticker CF decals done up.
I didnt care for it though.
I think the FX can start to look rice if you overdue those obvious areas that CF doesnt belong on.
 
i actually tried carbon fiber decals on my 8 (shh dont tell anyone) and it looked like ass, I don't like to cheap out on things and would rather pay more for the real thing the first time. HAHAHA
