QX70S Lowering Springs

Interested in lowering springs for my QX70S... anyone have any experience to share - what's good out there?

The only real option are H&R sport springs, which I had on my car for awhile. Nice drop and improvement over stock. Highly recommend for daily driving with OEM wheel setup.

Did you get an alignment after installing them? Were things still within spec? How did they affect ride quality?

No, things will not be in spec even after an alignment. It will be slightly out. If you want to fix it, you'll need the adjustable upper control arms from Megan Racing or Godspeed. The ride quality is great actually, a bit more "floaty" and definitely not harsh at all. It seems to be a progressive spring as once you get on it, it rides fairly tight, but at lower speeds it tends to bounce a little over uneven ground. Not in a bad way though. All about your goals. I loved them until I started doing track days and realized I needed to drop the car a bit more, stiffen it up, etc.

Someone was saying that the Megan control arms cause less clearance so you cant go as low since things will hit the top of the strut tower so if you want to go as low as possible it was either coils without control arms or super low standalone springs. What do you think about this?

You definitely need the upper control arms as it's a double-wishbone suspension in front. The first gen was not, if I remember correctly. I'm on a 2015 base QX70. In the the rear it's a "divorced" setup so spring goes in the bucket arm and you control the ride height from there. Yes, the megan arms are larger at the end, but with +/- 3 degrees of camber adjustment it's worth having them. Otherwise the car will be severely out the lower you go. There is a metal lip there that I actually cut and bent back to help with clearance. The only way to really tell though is to install something with your current wheel and tire setup and see where you're at. It took me over a month of adjustments to get everything sorted on my car. But, I'd never done it before either, so there's that LOL. Hope this helps.

Thanks when I finish this project thats my next dive. Yea I slammed my Q50 before but everything was way different this is actually more complicated lol.
