Post Headgasket Repair

After about a year of coolant ending up in my expansi0n tank and not in the radiator, I went ahead and replaced the head gasket. The job took a week and a half and i picked up my car on Feb 6th.

The symptoms I had were:
After long drives all the coolant ends up in the expansion tank and i would have to siphon it back into the rad. No overheating, no oil sludge no weird smells etc.

When i picked up my car the coolant level, in the expansion tank, was at MAX, since then, I've driven about 200 miles and have noticed that coolant level in the expansion tank is now between MIN and MAX.

Should I be concerned that now I'm losing coolant in the expansion tank? Should i call the mechanic and let him know or should i wait and see if it goes down pass the LOW line? All in all, the car is running like new, and maybe I'm just paranoid now with some sort of Coolant PTSD, but man, this is freaking me out.

Its covered under warranty, but, wanted to hear you guys thoughts!

Was the car hot when you picked up? I would not worry if coolant level is staying where it's at when the car been seating overnight!

It stays at the same level after the car cools down, but i am noticing over time the level is getting lower and lower... when picked up on the 6th the coolant was at max, after driving 200 miles its between max and min. Just dealing with PTSD with the coolant issue ive been battling over the last year.

I'll check the level tomorrow morning, i parked it at 2PM today and will not drive it until about 11:30ish tomorrow morning.

What was the outcome ?

Thanks for replying.
Did you have noticeable blown head gasket signs?
Not really, other than all the coolant being pushed into the expansion tank... i noticed the car heating up, so i [pulled over and had to siphon the coolant back into the radiator. Had to do that quite a bit before getting the head gasket replaced. Going on two years now the car runs good, but i'm at 180K miles... hoping to get another 40K miles before getting a smaller q50.

Glad to hear things worked out.

I had changed my thermostat and radiator(pin hole leak) recently and have been watching my overflow level like a hawk. Recently lost 3% coolant, engine temp is good but my OCD self is wondering if I could have a water pump or gasket issue. No typical signs of gasket problems though.

Just keep an eye on it.... might be a water pump, but if you change that remember to change the galley gaskets and everything else in there as the water pump in literally inside the engine.
