After (literally) months of searching, I finally bought a 16 QX70 AWD with Touring Package, black over tan. I previously owned a 2011 BMW 335d, so I am getting used to a different kind of high performance. So far, according to the computer, I'm getting 8 mpg less than the previous owner. That doesn't surprise me at all.
Random questions:
I'll look around on here, but if you have time, any help would be appreciated.
Mods:
Planning on the Injen Intakes and Bully Dog device first. Sprint gas pedal device. Then some type of exhaust.
Would you recommend anything different? One of the best mods to my BMW was a transmission flash, yet, I haven't been able to find much of anything for the Q. Is there are reason for this and I'm just too stupid to realize it? Is the Bully Dog worth the money? I'm not a "tuner" and I mainly want plug and play. I'm not going to track a million different inputs to make a 2 hp. adjustment. I just want it to go fast.
I have never been much of a "cat back" kind of guy. If I replace the exhaust, I want my money's worth and it looks like the Infiniti exhaust is pretty straight and straightforward. Can I just have a reputable local shop fit some duals or are the complete exhausts you can buy for what seems like a ridiculous amount of money the way to go? I've found some "test pipes" for an FX37 on close out. Is there any reason these wouldn't fit?
And last, and least, my Monroney sticker says something like "Midyear update" or something along those lines, but I haven't been able to find what the hell that is.

Oops, forgot the most important one: Several times I would go out to my car in the morning and the windows would be down and the sunroof back. I just put it down to my dog stepping on the remote. Now, after 8 days of ownership, twice I've looked out the bedroom window and the hatch has been open. The Fob range is much shorter on the QX and there is no way that it was "butt dialed" or any other accidental actuation. Does anyone have any idea what the hell is causing this?

Thanks for your help!!!!

Ok. Well, that wasn't that productive, so this probably won't be either: 1) Any advice on the cheapest place to get a key fob that actually works. 2) Someone stole my freaking antenna. Is there any reason not to just buy a replacement from O'Reilly's? 3) Any preference for Sprint vs. Pedal Commander? 4) I feel like I've done everything the manual says, but I still don't receive texts over the bluetooth. Have I done something wrong?

Thanks again for any help you can offer!

No loss on the one I recommend. I have in my QX60 and QX70.
Don't get ones the has a circuit board in it; it complete junk.

All you need to do is unscrew the OEM antenna whip. The oem antenna base stay as is. Do not buy those that has a circuit board inside. It does not work at all. Get the one from the link in my post.

ya, thanks... it turns out whoever was before me got really agro and wrecked all that.

I lowered the headliner from the back hatch, and undid the entire unit. unplugged 2 separate wire harness lines..wasn't hard. I wish i could have just changed the antenna post, but , aggressive hacks before me had permanently f89463ed that up. with a ton of glue to boot...$300 plus for replacement of entire unit with infinity , found one on eBay for $35... hope it works.

Your link to the item offers both standard or advanced style, both seem to have circuit boards inside? Which do you recommend?

I bought the Advanced one. I think they both should work just fine. No these does not have circuit board inside. The copper you see in the pictures are the antenna elements. Those with a circuit board, its a solid piece of circuit board with solder traces.

Here is a link the type with a circuit board inside... the green circuit board in the second picture (upper left corner) .Volkswagen Golf Shark Fin Antenna – Visual Garage Inc.

Awesome, thanks for the info!
