Hi all! I am looking for a good set of tires, found the 265/45R21 Pirelli Scorpion Zero brand-new for a great deal on eBay, but also read some reviews stating the tires are very loud on FX/QX's. Does anyone have experience with the tires and could provide some feedback? Any help would be much appreciated!

I have pirelli summer tires and never really heard the, being that loud. I’m actually about to get rid of the summer tires and switch to pirelli all season tires since I been swapping out summer and winter tires the last few years.

Thank you, ocal21. I was looking for all-season tires, though, and apparently, the Pirelli(all-season ones) were quite loud... So, I decided to go with 265/45R21 Continental CrossContact LX Sport AO ContiSilent. Ppl say they are not as sporty but the ride is comfier. I guess I'm gonna find it out :)

I am curious as well, I have been looking at these but in a wider size.

Hey, check out these tires - 295/40ZR21 Atturo AZ850 111Y(link below) check reviews as well. I'd buy those but they are summer tires. As a matter of fact, I had those a couple of years ago on my old Cayenne, they were great at warm weather, even though I live in Virginia but during winter they sucked. Lol Hope that helps!

Those are good looking tires! How do they fit on the stock wheels?

I had the scorpion zero's. Had'em for eight years. Didn't drive the FX much back then. Yes, they started to get LOUD! Got rid of them with tread left. I thought they were discontinued.

I had the Scorpion's on my explorer sport, thought they were good, not too loud at first but seemed like they didn't last as long as they should have and they did get loud. I have the Continental's on my QX and they have great grip and are wearing nicely, but they are noisy on all but the smoothest roads. I just don't think the QX has much in the way of insulation as everyone I test drove was the same.

I got the Nokian zline SUV. Really good tires from Nokian. The company has a policy though not to sell online, so you have to call in your local tire shop. Grip/Noise are Michelin pilot standard.

I also have the Continental DWS-06 295/40R21 on my FX50s. There is a pic (currently the last one) in the random FX pic thread, on page 145. The sidewalls are a bit softer than the OE tire, and the tire is wider. Overall the ride is better, ultimate cornering grip is insane when you consider the weight and height of the vehicle, but they are a little slower to react to steering input than the nearly worn out OE tires. They are much quieter, but it still has the odd resonation over expansion joints and stuff that the second-gen FX's have - it may be less pronounced with these. My only question when I bought these tires was to buy these or a michelin pilot sport variety in the same size. I went with these because a couple of times a year I drive somewhere with mild ice and/or light snow. I also ran these tires in a smaller size on my last FX and have been totally happy with them. Other than this specific model of tires, I've generally not been a fan of Continental.
