I am a new member I have a 2005 FX35 AWD 93000 miles. Today my low tire indicator beeped long and loud at me. I pulled over to see what was wrong and from an eye view everything looked okay. I kept driving and pretty much drove all day. I took it to a car wash and still no issues, I got home parked it for about an hour and then went to go to the store and the VCD/SLIP lights were on also my check engine light also came on. Then when I put it in gear the balls that the car once had were gone. I checked the brake fluid as your site instructed but it was full, I bought the car the last week of January 2014 when I got it the dealership put $2500.00 worth of work to it. they replaced the brakes, belts oil/air filter. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I called the Nissan Dealership and they say the car's computer is in safe mode and thats why the car will start but when you give it gas it does not drive. The car thinks there's a flat tire so the computer doesn't want you to drive on flat tires. any ideas?:eek.:

You can unplug the battery for about 5 minutes to reset the fail-safe mode, however if something is causing it to happen, it will come back, but at least you can drive it back to the dealership and check what is causing it

nope, you can leave it unplugged all night, the minimum time to reset is usually 5 - 10 minutes. And also you will loose any settings in your radio, seats memory etc etc .

Thank you for the help. I love my FX and I hope this stuff works I don't want to own a bad ass lemon. I'll keep you informed if anything changes

I see this problem is spreading like wild fire now.

I have the same problem with my 03 fx35 which has been down for almost 2 weeks now. I pretty much give-up hope on these FX - no joke.

I had the same problem before and fixed it. I looked it up with an OBD-II scanner and my camshaft sensor needed replacing. I picked it up from O'Reilly or Autozone for $30 plus tax. I would replace both sensors in case, but it depends on the code you're getting.

I’ve owned my 2005 FX35 for more than 5 years now. All as been great until a month ago. First an ignition coil went out so I replaced all spark plugs and the coil. Decided to replace a coils, but done this one at a time for expense reasons. Before I had a chance to replace the last one on cylinder 1 the FX burned 2 coils at once. #1 and #4(which was new). FX hasn’t started back up since that day 3 weeks ago. Crank no start. CEL HAS been on, but just had a code come up yesterday. U1000 meaning one or more modules aren’t communicating with the ECM. From what I’ve read there could be an electrical fault or ground issue. Any ideas? I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you so much.

Bad/corroded/loose ground could cause the coils to burn up.

I believe there is a TSB for grounding issues on the FX. Causes coils to go out.

Found it. Check out ITB11-0917:

Ok. I’ve completed the above and still NO START. Not giving up yet, but something has to work. This FX has always started up no matter what issue it was experiencing. I can’t help but feel that it’s something so simple. If it is in fail safe mode resetting the battery didn’t work. Any help will be much appreciated.

You may have a dead fuel pump. You can verify this by spraying a good bit of starting fluid into your intake then try to start the engine. If it lights off and idles on the fluid then stalls then you have a bad pump, bad pump fuse or clogged fuel filter.

What brand of coils did you use?
