FX50 Oil Change

This may seem like a basic question but i could not find anything on the site surorisingly about how to change the oil and what is the best oil to use.

Can anyone help and recommend the best oil and filters for these cars?? Mobile 1? Synthetic?? weight??
Also where can i find the instructions to do the oil change??

FSM calls for synthetic 5W30, you should be fine with that. Also calls for 5.7 quarts if you change the oil filter, I just round up to 6 quarts. Changing the oil is simple:
  1. Remove the lower splash shield, drain the pan by removing the 14mm plug.
  2. Put the plug back on (do not overtighten), remove the oil filter then wipe the area down with a clean rag.
  3. Fill the new oil filter at least 1/2 up with fresh oil and screw back on to the oil filter tree (again, do not overtighten).
  4. Put the splash shield back on.
  5. Refill the engine with new oil.
I use Mobil 1 0w40 European formula myself with the M1 perfomance filter. I change both at 7500 miles.

Its ridiculous this site does not see to be very responsive to posts especially to something that should be able to answer. I didnt realize anyone had replied after checking several times before. Appreciate it though.

My car has about 95k miles. I was wondering if at some point its better to switch to mineral oil or just stick with the Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30.
Also is the 5w30 weight for all year round? or changed in winter during the cold months to a different weight?

Stick with the synthetic, it is superior to mineral oil in all conditions and 5W30 is good for year round.

WalMart typically has the best deal on Mobil 1 in case you didn't know by the way.

Ok Thx Bro.

Im curious did you see my other post titled (MOA BG Oil Additive (Dealer Recommeneded?)
Im interested what your thought is on the MOA BG Oil additive since no one seem to reply to that post either with any feedback from using it. Any info you got on it or know about it would be great. Im thinking about doing it at the dealer but lil pricey.
