Just caught site of a cracked dash fx35 09’. Anybody with insight on this issue. Infiniti says outta luck!

Really wish there was an affordable option for this issue. I have an '09 with cracks around perimeter of all vents, two in middle of dash on passenger side, and cracks down the edges around radio/climate control areas. They slowly get wider over time as well. I considered a dash cover but haven't found any I like well enough.

I think I read in the owner's manual that Infiniti states if possible, the car should be parked/stored inside. However, any vehicle manufactured these days should be able to withstand excessive exposure to sunlight. I've seen 30 year old turds that still have sound dashboards, with the exception of maybe a bit of sun bleaching. The fact they went thru multiple iterations of dashboards for the FX series and still had problems is downright embarrassing and unacceptable. Especially for a premium brand.

Embarrassing and unacceptable for the premium cost of an Infiniti! If enough of us get together we can force them via class action.

It would probably be pretty easy to win after the precedent set in Missouri... Just saying...

A little harder for us folk in Canada...

@Parabola: You should be able to replace your dash since it's most likely still within the extended warranty period INFINITI issued...

The extended warranty only runs 03-08’. They evidently thought they had the issue solved. 09’ and later are not included. Retail and resale are shot to heck with the issue. Had planned on giving this to my college child and purchasing or leasing a new one. Definitely rethinking that.
Hoping Infiniti steps up but not likely without some outside pressure.

You can always e-mail INFINITI HQ and send a copy of that article in Missouri... They can have final say on whether or not they'll warranty your claim, and it's always good to show up at the table with some ammo than completely empty handed...

I spent $1400 to replace it on my FX 09 whole dash by dealer. Glad I did. I enjoyed my interiors like new again. No regrets.
Now looking forward for any class action that force Infiniti to pay so I can ask for a refund.

Good to know how much the replacement costs. Ariele - How bad did the cracks get on the old replaced dash? Or was it bubbling?

I have a 2004 FX35 and the dash just start to bubble this year after I moved to FL. Had zero issues in Midwest. Wondering if Infiniti will honor the replacement?

What a nightmare. My car is getting them too , it seemed like they showed up over night. I don’t know if it’s even economical to replace it at this point, car must not even be worth $9k at this point.

If you plan to keep it for long time, replace it, you won’t regret. These FXs still looks great with 10 years old. IMO our FXs worth to keep it due to is not manufactured anymore.

Has anyone looked into replacing the dash themselves? My 2009 FX50's dash has started cracking around the vents. I can deal with the sticky/tacky dash but the cracks look horrible.

Is going to get worse. The pic shown in this thread was from my FX35 ‘09 three year ago.

I know I'm zombie posting, but I can't help it.

If anyone really wants to get the ball rolling on a class action lawsuit against Infiniti over this outrageous and unacceptable cracking dash nonsense, let me know.

It's happening to mine and I am absolutely furious. My once super nice looking car now looks like junkyard trash and Infiniti is telling me to kick rocks. They already lost at least one lawsuit that I'm aware of, so I think it's time they lost another and are forced to do the right thing. So if there is a suit already going on, please point me towards it. If not, let's work on getting this started, because I am beyond angry at the prospect of having to pay over $2,000 for a dash that will probably just crack again in who knows how many few short years.

I’m in but have no idea how to start a suit. Anybody? I still snarl every time I get in it!
