front view camera replacement?

Remove the plastic intake cover from engine (four clips), which gives you access to the front grille/camera. Use 10mm (I believe) socket to remove 5 bolts from grille (4 corners, and top center), then press clips (8 total?) to unseat grille, and pull forward, away from bumper cover. Detach camera by pulling upward on tab and pull plug apart. You should then be able to use a screwdriver to detach camera from the grille. There may be an easier way, but that's what I did. Hope this helps!

Just finished up finally replacing my front camera and those little fasteners are tough to deal with but all done, thanks Mike for the instructions!

I have a stupid question.. what if I tried to remove the 5 bolts around the grille; and it just spun endlessly? How screwed am I? - pardon the pun.

When I replaced my front camera I didn’t have a problem with any of the bolts spinning, sounds stripped did you over tighten it or this was during removal? And I’m sure someone here can help you.

Also when I replaced mine I didn’t have to take out the grille. I just worked in the little space after removing the top trim.

This helps.. i'll try to replace it without removing the grille.. i've never attempted to remove the grille before; not sure what/when that happened.

It’s not bad and FYI those screw things holding in the camera are a son of a gun, I had to break them to get it out with some pliers. Also the camera is like snapped in with tabs on both sides. Be gentle and use force at the same time. Good luck man

Hey, can you tell me the model # of your camera? What year is your FX? I have the 2017 mesh grille, and I want to make sure I get the right camera. Been putting off getting it because I wasn't sure it would mount properly. Thanks!
