Daytime Running Lights not working

Hello, I just purchased a 2011 FX50 after driving an FX35 for 5 years. The daytime running lights are not working. If I leave the lights in the 'auto' position, the headlights will come on when the lighting is dim but the DRLs will not come on at all. Any suggestions?

My 2013 United States FX doesn’t have DTRLs are you 100% certain yours does? My impression was the ones sold in Canada and some countries overseas have them but not standard issue in the USA.

I put black tape on the dash sensor, and just use “Auto “, of course that’s headlights, not fog/drivers, but sure is simple.
