As I continue to return my recently purchased CPO 2015 QX70 to showroom quality - this weekend was tackling the engine...photos attached.

Question: Do you/should you remove plastic protective covers and clean beneath, such as battery cover, etc?

What did you do/have planned this father's day weekend?

I drove 600 miles this weekend, so I'm pooped. BUT I do love a clean engine bay. What do you use to dress the plastics, rubber, etc.?

Well clearly, I'm a Mothers fan; I've used Mothers Back to Black Trim Restorer (liquid) on most other exterior blackf-trim parts on my vehicle (which are still holding up well going on two months - snapping photos every now and again to track how long it lasts before requiring another coat); however, after checking out some youtube videos, and hearing others in this group mention 303 products, I used 303 Quick Car Detailer with UV Protectant - High Gloss Car Cleaner and Detailing Spray.

Btw, love your Q70! We're planning to get the other half one next year - wanted to wait for a '16 CPO that returns from 3-year lease since I had to unexpectedly purchase another (second gen) X following the totaling of my '05 FX in April this year.
