2016 QX70...is there any way to change the programming of when the doors unlock automatically after driving? Right now they only unlock when I switch the ignition off. I'd like for them to unlock when I shift to Park (P) instead, like literally every other car out there. Having them open only when the car is turned off is the dumbest thing ever.

I was given a 2016 Q50 loaner and this one had this setting available in the customizable "convenience" settings or whatever. My car doesn't have this option in the menu. Is this something that the dealer or I can change?

Per the Owner's Manual:
To activate or deactivate the automatic door unlock mechanism, perform the following procedure:
1. Close all doors.
2. Push the ignition switch to the “ON” position.
3. Within 20 seconds, push and hold the power door lock switch to the “UNLOCK” position for more than 5 seconds.
4. When activated, the hazard indicator will flash twice. When deactivated, the hazard indicator will flash once.

Thanks but not quite what I'm looking for. I want them to automatically lock when I shift to D and move (as they currently do) but I want them to automatically unlock when I then shift back to P. currently they stay locked when shifting back to P and only unlock upon ignition off.

Yeah thats how I want them to work as well, much like the wifes Honda.....I dont think this is possible in ours....

You will need the consult III for this, according to the Service Manual

P Range Interlock Door Lock All doors are locked when shifting the selector lever from the P position to any position other than P. BCM outputs the lock signal to all door lock actuators when it detects that the ignition switch is in the ON posi-tion and the shift signal received from the TCM via CAN communication is shifted from the P position to any position other than P.

Ah thank you much. So it is feasible and seems like Mode 2 is what I want but I'll likely have to have the dealer do it and they'll charge me an hours labor for it I bet. Fun.
